From the Office
Today, skilled nursing communities do more than care for long-term residents. At Whittier Care and Rehabilitation, we also help people recover from surgery, injury or serious illness. A patient who once might have spent an extended period in an acute care hospital can now come to us for skilled nursing care or rehabilitation therapy.
Whether residents are here for temporary treatment or long-term care, we understand the importance of providing a comfortable environment and a smooth transition into our community. Each resident’s comprehensive care plan is designed by our interdisciplinary team to meet individual needs and goals and is based on physical, cognitive and emotional assessments.
We care for people with a wide range of illnesses and injuries, including patients recovering from hip replacements, knee surgeries or other orthopedic conditions, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, open heart surgeries and surgical wounds.
Family members and friends play an important role in helping residents obtain independence. Families are encouraged to participate in our community through family councils, recreational activities, day trips and volunteer opportunities. When a resident is ready to leave our community, our interdisciplinary team develops a care plan for a smooth, safe transition and to identify resources to make the homecoming easier.
We accept Medicare, Medicaid, VA, most managed care plans and private insurance.
