Customer Reviews

I was very impressed with Atria Larson Place. It is one of my top choices.

A good visit

I liked this community when we toured it. The people we met were friendly. This community seems to be active and has a lot of nice amenities available. The grounds are well maintained and they have a nice sitting area outside. This community has churches and retail shopping close by. This community was just a little more expensive than what we were looking for.

A great place

The staff are very nice and professional. The community is very clean. They offer activities every hour. The food is good. This community is close to family and I would recommend it.

The Admission person, [Removed] was lovely and convincing. Bob loved the bright and spacious hallways and room. Having a discounted rate helped enormously.

[Removed] was magnificent. I felt an immediate connection with her. She was informative and had the answers to all my questions at the tip of her tongue. The facility was extremely clean and bright and well equipped with everything any resident would need.

Atria Larson is amazing! The people are kind and helpful
I think my parents will be very happy there!!

To much money!

THis community was still new and it was a little bigger than the other community's that we had toured. The staff was nice and they answered all our questions, but we felt that they offered the same things that the other community's just were way more expensive.

Good Community, Our Went Well

This is nice community, and our tour of it went well. The community looked well maintained from what we saw. The staff was nice, and friendly to my family and myself. It was a good experience, but this wasn't the community for my mother, and her needs.

Small And Homelike!!

My loved one is adjusting since her move to this community. We were lead to believe that she would have a staff member show her around and help her out on her first day which did not happen. She was left on her own which is something they need to work on. Other than that, the place is a good clean place. Everyone, staff, and residents seem very nice and welcoming. They offer a mixture of activities my loved one is considering joining when she gets settled in.

Tour Went Great

We really loved this facility, it is a truly a wonderful community. Our tour of the facility went very well. The community is beautiful, everything was very nice and clean. The staff was very nice and informative. We wanted my mother in law to move to the community, but she found one she liked better. It is a very wonderful community. I would recommend it.

A word to the wise!

My findings:
Poor management, it stinks from the top down. Constructive criticisms / complaints go unresolved and fall on deaf ears, all you get are excuses and lies.
Activity schedule is a joke, it is not followed and in most cases the activities are not even offered.
All important Care Assessments are poorly prepared with care plans barely followed.
I loved what I heard from the marketing person and after forking over a $3500.00 as a non- refundable deposit I was rudely awakened as to the reality of the situation. Put simply, they did not live up to what was promised, and management feels they don't they have too.
In conclusion, I feel I was taken advantage of and ripped off. I fear for the well being of my parent.
Here's your homework, try to find a person's name and contact information or a negative review of Atria Larson Place on the internet. Why?

Review of Atria Larson Place - Hamden, CT

Executive Director personally greeted us. Warm inviting. Immaculate clean. Great parking. Historic building. Lots of activities.

They seem to be enjoying it there.

So far so good. They seem to be enjoying it there. I think the care is pretty good. We were surprised to find that there was not a notary on site. The food has been good, I think it's been a good place. The staff has been wonderful. They don't just stick them in a wheelchair.

So far so good!....

So far so good seems to be plenty of activities the staff seems fine, we have not had any issues we barely been there for 5 weeks nothing to complaint about.

Every last person is so friendly, but also professional!
They give you privacy, but check on you, to see if something is wrong. It is truly wonderful here. And the food is good.

highly recommend

One of the reasons I chose Atria Larson Place was how clean it is. The staff are awesome here. They have been very attentive to my parents and any requests I have made for maintenance or anything really. Mom needed special meals and the staff are very accommodating. I am very happy with the choice we made. I highly recommend this facility.

There have been a few issues.

There have been a few things here that haven't been the best, things I have had to bring to their attention. They have kind of stepped up their game after a few complaints. So they have been responsive. I have eaten here with my dad, and the food is pretty decent, it's not bad.

Very impressed with staff and how attentive they are to not only my Mother but other residents. The fact that each greets her by name, and many are aides who do not work in Life Guidance, and smiles is very comforting.

It's not a bad place, most of the people there are wonderful people.

I think their menu could be improved, I think they put way to much sodium in their food. Their bases for gravies and things, not only contain a lot of sodium but MSG too, which really surprised me. I think the cleanliness and organization in the dining room needs to be improved. The activities that are posted get changed or cancelled often with out enough notice for the participants that show up. Often times they have had events planned, karaoke, or something, and machinery breaks, or a D.J. doesn't show up. I don't know if it's all Atria Larson Place or if it's the follow through, things just don't run smoothly and efficiently. The laundry room looks like they haven't been cleaned in years, things that are broken don't get fixed in a timely manor. They did promote a number of things when they were letting us know what the community had to offer that weren't entirely acurate. It's not a bad place, most of the people there are wonderful people. The concern and response of the people are good. Ron and Jill have been very good, and helpful.

Thank you for your feedback, we always appreciate hearing from our residents and families as they can provide valuable insight as to how we can continue to improve. After taking a closer look into our bases and gravies, we found one soup base that did contain a small amount of MSG. I am happy to report that this product will no longer be used at our community and I encourage you to look into our no-salt-added and no-concentrated sweets dining options, available to anyone who requires such dietary needs. Your comments will be shared with the appropriate directors to make sure we are meeting Atria’s high standards in regards to activities and maintenance. If you would like to discuss your concerns in further detail, please feel free to contact us at [removed] and be sure to include “Atria Larson Place” in your subject line.

Great Skilled Nursing Care

My aunt was there. She had a studio and it was much more money than where she is now. We liked Atria Larson. She had skilled nursing care when she was at Atria. The doctor that became her primary physician was the house physician for Atria and that worked out well. While she was at Atria the skilled nursing care was a big plus. She had a bad heart and very weak lungs and they gave her very good nursing care there and she improved but her resources were dwindling at Atria. Her studio was just too small and cluttered and it was getting on her nerves. She felt very pent up.
