My Step mother stayed in South Oaks for about a month after the Hurricane before we moved her back into her own home. Over all, I would have to say these people were wonderful to her. My stepmother is a tough cookie to say the least, but 95% of the people were extremely kind and understanding. I can’t be grateful enough for what they did. My step mother has dementia, and won’t eat if someone doesn’t feed her. My only issue with South Oaks is that they would often bring her food to her, but not feed her. She ended up losing weight as a result. I had hired a private caretaker for her when she lived at home, and after I had her come during the day, things got much better. Over all though, I would recommend South Oaks. They were very kind, especially given our urgent need.
