The lady I met was very nice, and the apartment is very clean and nice. Good neutral colors (tans and one darker red wall). LOTS of storage in the kitchen by way of cupboards, and the walk-in master closet is phenomenal. There is a nice granite-topped desk in the area that transitions from the kitchen to living area. However, this is not a 55+ facility, but an all-ages place. There is a pool and a dog play yard, but there is no community room or common area--it is simply a regular apartment building. While the 2-bedroom is very nice, and there is an elevator in the building I was given a tour in (not in every building, though), the price was on the high end, I thought. Almost $1400 for the 2-bedroom, plus a $500 deposit for a pet and another $500 deposit for the apartment. Both are refundable minus $150 of the pet deposit. It's just not what I am looking for - a 55+ community with common rooms (library or meeting area) to meet people.
Relocating Seniors Not Ready for Senior Living
We started out looking at senior independent living apartments and ended up in a standard apartment. Plan was to relocate to the Twin Cities, secure living arrangements and possibly continue to look at our leisure at other facilities. We plan to spend many summer days at our cabin and extend our winter vacation in Mexico. Our current place (Plymouth Ponds which is owned and managed by Thies & Talle) has been totally remodeled and is spacious and rental rates seems to be competitive. We were referred to Plymouth Ponds by Amy Thornton of A Place for Mom and her follow up has been great.
With patios on the first floor and balconies on the second and third, you'll be able to enjoy the lovely wooded landscape of Plymouth Ponds all year long. Summer is best, of course, with our inviting outdoor pool, tennis court, basketball court, picnic areas and shaded walking paths. As a resident, you'll appreciate the controlled access entry, the heated underground garage and carwash bay and other great conveniences you wouldn't expect at these prices. Come see for yourself today.
