Customer Reviews

Great sized units, but still under renovation (looking good though.) A lot of space for different activities, great outdoor space

Do some resurch

My mom was there for a six months contract. Even though she did not move till it was ready. I would of moved her out earlier. Very disappointed at the misrepresentation. Sad but when she left so did 7 and others will follow that can. Still having problems with Pines after 2 plus months. I am ready to go to news to get it resolved. I have pictures to explain my concerns. The people who live their expect what is advertised. The loving people living there are so nice but do they have any other choice. Holiday owes it to them. They pay good money. Please resolve my problems.

Hi Debbie, I am sorry to see that your experience with Ormond in the Pines was not pleasant Your feedback has been shared with regional management. Please reach out to us at [removed] to discuss this further.

NOT a good experience.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone for their loved ones.
This was NOT a good experience for me any my family.
Their number one priority is the money, not the care of your family.
The Management team is not helpful when issues arise, they place the blame on "corporate" and tell you to call there for a resolution.
When you call their corporate office, no one will answer, they send you to voicemail, and never return your call.
Their customer service is absolutely AWFUL.
I really can't believe they are still in business with such terrible customer service.
Good Luck with this place, you are going to need it!!

Hi there, we value the feedback you have shared with us as it helps us improve. If you are still having any concerns that still need to address, we would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. You can reach out to resident relations at [removed]. Thank for reaching out.

My Mom was overwhelmed by the size of the facility... halls were VERY LONG! Staff was nice. Room size was nice. Dining room nice and food good but VERY NOISY! Could not hardly hear the client who had lunch with us do to noise in dining room and constant piano music.

Doing Very Well

We talk to my father in law a few times a week and he sounds really happy and content. He likes the community a lot. He has been going to some not all but some of the activities they offer and he has been making friends. He has people stop by his room and they go down for meals together and he loves the food there. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They are happy to answer any of our questions or address any concerns when we call. We would recommend this community.

I would not recommend

This community does not offer an in house telephone so if you need help you have to press the button you wear around your neck. They are slow to respond when the button is pressed. They will do your laundry. They said that it would take two weeks to set up cable, however when we called it was done in a day. When I moved in they said I was at one level of care and then within the first month they said the level had moved up and they wanted to charge more money. I feel they said what they needed to get me into this community.

Not ready to receive

Ormond In the Pines was in the process of cleaning and repairing so it did not make a good impression for a place for my mom to live. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. We chose another community for our current needs.

Too Big for Us

I was not very impressed with my tour of this community. From what I was shown I knew this was not the place for my mother, and her needs. The appearance of the community needs improvements. The facility is 5 stories high, and I didn't feel comfortable with that. It was not the right fit for my mother overall.

Friendly Tour

Great Tour. Friendly Community.

By the water!

This is a really beautiful community. I liked that they were close to the beach and the view. Of course the price would be higher. The staff is great and they are very helpful and accommodating. The community was also very clean.

Beautiful Property!!

I could have not chosen a better home for my mother than this place, and she is absolutely loving it since moving in. The property is very pretty with lots of great scenery and is always well maintained every time I have visited. My mom seems to feel comfortable with the staff and feels safe which is most important to me. She has had no complaints about the food and seems to be participating in a few of the activities with the other residents. Overall it was a great move and easy transition

Very well maintained community!!

My loved one seems to really be liking her stay so far at this community. She has only been there for a short time but seems to have made the adjustment fairly well. My mother is enjoying the meals especially the breakfast and dinner they serve. Every time I have visited the building is always well maintained and her bedroom has been picked up. So far we have no complaints and have been pleased with the care she has received.

I would recommend this community!

My brother likes living at Ormond In The Pines. The staff here are wonderful. They offer a variety of choices and he thinks the food tastes good. He enjoys the Wednesday night poker they play. The community is kept clean.

Brother's Care

My brother is doing good here. Staff team is very good and very helpful. The food is very good. Alot of activities are offered. Highly recommended for others for great care!

This is a good community!

The caregivers are very good. I have eaten there and I think the food is good. The community is well taken care of. They offer a variety of daily activities. I would recommend this community.

A Nice Community, Very Nice People Here

This is a nice community, but my father is still adjusting to it. Everybody has been very nice and friendly. I know he is in good hands here. They are providing him with good care, he is safe here. Hopefully with some more time he will become more comfortable. This is a really nice community and I would recommend it.

A Really Great Family like Retirement Facility with many options

We cannot recommend Ormond in the Pines enough!

We looked for a retirement place that offered independent living as well as the option of assisted living in the same facility if needed. Ormond has this and caters to their residents to allow them to be independent yet with a caring eye on how they are doing and what they might need.

From the first time we entered the doors, people smiled at us, greeted us and praised the place and staff. Truly the residents are like a family and do extend themselves to newcomers. Also, everyone knows the staff by name and staff knows all of the residents plus monitors that everyone is cared for and accounted for as to meals, needs etc. Great place!!!

You can find new buildings but you can't find a better family atmosphere for your loved ones!

Nice Community!!

My loved one has been getting good care. Activities are offered in the community for the residents. I feel that my loved one is safe. The community is kept clean and well organized. I would recommend this place to families.

Been here, lovely place.

Thank you for helping us find a great place to live for our dad. We had a warm and friendly experience.

Mom's Move

My mother recently moved there and really loves it. She is very comfortable in her new home. The staff was very helpful with all their care and getting her settled in. I am so happy that she is happy as it was hard for her to move to a new place.

Review of Ormond In The Pines - Ormond Beach, FL

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We found the prices and amenities very affordable. The staff was friendly and informative an the tenant seemed happy and well cared for.

We are blessed to have found Ormond in the Pines

My Mother and her significant other have now been at Ormond in the Pines for month and a half. I continue to get happy phone calls from them explaining how much fun they are having with their new friends and how wonderful the whole experience is. Rave about the food and staff and I have been able to experience first hand on my visits to them to share in lunch or dinner time. On all occasions the staff was delightful and responsive in their presentation and serving of the very tasteful food. It has been prepared nicely with many offering to satisfy any appetite or craving. I especially like the fact that healthy food is available at all time. Tasty, plentiful and varied, what more can one ask for. I cannot express how comfortable I am having my loved ones in this environment. Knowing they are cared for with love and consideration allows me to sleep at night. I am grateful for Ormond in the Pines and appreciate all their staff for how they handle each and ever job

My mother is very happy here!

My mother is loving it at Ormond In The Pines. She has realized how much easier her life is now. She already had friends there which made it easy. She is very happy with her apartment and is settling in very well. She really likes it there. The people there sold us at the beginning, they are all very accommodating and work with us, which we really appreciate. The young staff in the dining room are wonderful. The food is very good, the family is able to go in and have meals with her. She also has her own kitchen in her room to make her own meals when she wants. She teaches a bible class there. They have a piano player sometimes. The administrative staff lives onsite and is always available. The housekeeper introduced herself and gave my mom the cleaning schedule. They give the residents a life alert pendant in case of a fall and a staff member would be there immediately to assist.
A Place For Mom has been a blessing to my family and made this a smooth process.

My mother loves Ormond in the Pines

An older facility, but still a tremendous value. I'm so glad we chose Ormond in the Pines. The people are wonderful, the food is good and there are plenty of activities to suit everyone.

The staff helped turn what I thought would be a very difficult process into a welcomed transition.

My mother loves it there!

Life at the Pines

Her daughters and myself are more than satisfied with Ormond in the Pines. As it has been less than a week we do not exactly know how my sister is is adapting to her new home. The home is clean, the staff is very friendly and caring. It has more than adequate things for the residences to do (arts & crafts, library, entertainment, trips to mall & movies, heated swimming pool (year round), bible study classes in different denominations, and many more. If a person couldn't be happy here the possibility is that they wouldn't be happy anywhere.

A good experience for mom

My mother is happy there after 3 weeks. The staff and the other residents are extremely friendly. That made a difference in my mother's transition from her own home.

I wish they would update the facility. The grounds, interior and apartment could use some refreshing.

Overall not to happy with the place.

My mother has been in the Ormond in the Pines for about 4 months now. She doesn't like the place at all. The other residents aren't friendly. She has only maybe one friend there. My mother and brother says that's it's clean but that it is an old community. She only does physical therapy there, so I find the care there to be fine and we're getting what we paid for. She doesn't participate in any activities there. Overall not to happy with the place.

Hi, I'm Katie, I work at Holiday Retirement's Home Office. I'm so sorry to hear that your mom isn't happy at Ormond in the Pines. We try to offer a robust activity calendar, so I'm disappointed to learn that none of the activities suit her. Being involved in activities is one of the best ways to engage with other residents and make friends. If she's unhappy with the activities offered at Ormond in the Pines and has a suggestion about something she'd prefer to see on the calendar, she is always encouraged to bring suggestions up to her Enrichment Coordinator, or, if she's more comfortable addressing her concern at a corporate level, either of you are free to call our Resident Relations department at [removed]. Thank you for leaving an honest review and here's to hoping she makes more friends soon! :)

Great food! Quality depends on independence level

For independent living, this is a excellent spot, deserves 5 stars. The food is very good! Many activities, scheduled transport to bank, Wal-Mart. Holiday celebrations, activities, decent central location. Absolutely worth considering.
Assisted living is probably fine for sharp seniors with medical problems.
BUT if your loved one becomes memory impaired or demented, do not put in assisted living: move them out. Ormond in Pines tends to keep these residents too long, and make promises it will NOT keep. Don't expect promised bathroom reminders, socialization, room cleaning, laundry. You may find them wet, lonely, confused, in a room that reeks, with no linens or towels (supposedly included). Showers do not happen if the resident says they don't need one. Assisted living unit is a dark confusing warren of hallways, with lots of unlocked doors to stairwell exits (read: not so safe).
That said, for independent living this is a fine choice.

Good & Bad at Ormond In The Pines

Ormond In The Pines is a nice place and my parent likes it. The CNA's and the nurses are very nice & attentive; however, the sales folks drop you like a stone once you sign up. I believe it is impt to the residents that the folks that sign you up & are your first contacts within the community, should stay involved with you as you live there. These folks do not, but they tell you they do. Also, the food leaves lots to be desired...and I have tried it myself. Yuck. Lastly, the entire place needs a very good cleaning....and should be cleaned often....The Pines is not. The Pines is old and it shows. Dirt & grime are set in. I saw the same dead roach in one of the side stairway entries for two (2) months! Windows really need a good cleaning too. My parent can barely see out the window. Apartment is not cleaned well either. Having said all of this, I do believe my Mom is in a safe environment at Ormond In The Pines. And again, the nurses & CNA's & other attendants are really nice. And they do a good job of keeping me posted on my parent, which I appreciate. Just wish they would do an overall good cleaning on their establishment. I would still recommend this retirement community. Residents have the opportunity to feel more at home because it is not like a "nursing home" at all. My parent likes this aspect. My parent & I shopped four (4) different places within our community before deciding on a place and this is the place my parent decided on and is not sorry. Making my parent happy & safe is what is ultimately impt to me.

Look at the food options, and small print before moving in.

My parent moved in February 2014, they didn't include in activities or welcoming as I think they should have.
The food is not good, and very small in portions. The staff is not friendly, and seems as soon as you give them the fee for down payment they tell you that you must stay 6 months, when I thought it was month to month. My parent wants to move but has to stay for the remainder of months, even though is not happy, so they are not concerned at all about considering happiness of life.

This would be my choice for...

This would be my choice for Mom, when the time is right.

Happy as a lark!

Happy as a lark. They are very friendly, they even know everybody names. They have activities going all time. They have very good meals I've eaten there a few times and the food is excellent, they even have hot home made rolls for lunch. The maintence, they will come and help you when you have a burned out lightbulb even. She has her own apartment here where some were more like a studio, they even had a kitchen with a refridgerator, stove and a garbage disposal. It wasn't like a hotel room. It was a little less expensive than a lot of the other ones. It's all in one square building with a courtyard in the middle and even a swimming pool in there, and they have physical therapy right on campus also. They excercises for an hour three times a week run by the physical therapy, free of charge. They take them shopping and she's going on a mystery tour next week and went to see the christmas lights over the holidays.

I'm very, very pleased with them.

I'm very, very pleased with them. We looked at a couple of other places and when we saw this place we were like wow, compared to what we had seen. They have quite a calendar of activities. The food wasn't bad at all, my dad is so thrilled he doesn't have to cook. I have no complaints! I would definitely recommend it to someone esle. We chose this one because of the size of the apartments, it was very nice compared to some of the little shoebox rooms we saw for a similar price. The staff was very nice. Its a really nice looking facility. When we were looking we were only looking for a place for my step-mom and he liked it so much he decided to move in with her there.

GREAT COMMUNITY

The community was very friendly towards my mom. She feels at home having her own apartment. The food is good and there are many activities to keep her busy.

Very Happy

We are very happy with it. it is kind of like family. It is a medium size community and my parents felt comfortable there when we visited. They are in the indpendent side, but they do get meals. There are tons of activities, but they don't do most of them. I think there is stuff going on all day every day!
