Customer Reviews

What a great place!

The first thing I noticed when I walked into Grand Villa for the first time was that the residents were happy and smiling. I asked some of of the residents if they liked it there and their response was "Yes!" Some of the residents said they had been there for 4 or more years and wouldn't live anywhere else. I went back several times and brought my friends with me who had placed their parents in an ALF. They knew all the right questions to ask and they, too, were very impressed with the facility. It is very clean and the staff is awesome. The staff truly love their jobs and it shows. Everyone is so helpful and concerned with making everything perfect for you and your loved one. They communicate with you on a regular basis and if they have questions or if something happens, they call you immediately. Moving a parent into an ALF is a very emotional process and the comfort and support the staff supplies is second to none! The staff is very concerned for their residents safety and they really watch over them. I'm glad to know that if/when the time comes that I can move my mom into the memory care unit they provide. It's a great place and I'm glad I found it!

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas Park

Very nicely decorated, very clean. Most of the staff are kind and understanding. A number of them go our of their way to help with unusual problems. The only problems I have noticed are common to the entire industry - these include lack of adequate training for persons entrusted with the heavy responsibility of giving medications, and sullen attitudes related to pay and difficulties with adequate staffing.

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas Park

Super community! Staff are awesome and care about all of their residents. Management cares.

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas Park

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas Park

I love living here in this community. The Dept Heads listen when I have a problem. I am proud to be a ambassador and I take my job when I am asked very seriously. [Name removed] loves us all and I just want to say thank you to everyone - love you!

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas Park

We, sister and I arrived here 8 months ago. To me, it was a hardship to adjust but the staff members were very supportive. Not only that, all staff members no matter what department they were in, was friendly, compassionate and understanding, I can talk freely and comfortably when I've had decisions to decide or just talk about other matters.

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas Park

My mom has been with them for 2 years, they are amazing in every regard. As the caretakers, they knew me by name anytime I visit with them. Fantastic community

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas

I like living here of course I miss my home and neighbors! I enjoy helping people in need. I like the activity program.

Review of Grand Villa of Pinellas

Very convenient place to live. The staff are very nice and very helpful. Executive Director [name removed] is extremely helpful and friendly. There are plenty of activities offered to help us pass time.

This was our second choice. Staff was friendly . The lady that gave us the tour provided us with lots of information and was very helpful. Place was bright , clean and well kept. Activity rooms were a little small.

Small one bedrooms cost much too high for what is available.

When we toured this community I liked it much better than where dad currently is but he didn't like this place as much. The staff was nice and friendly. The community appeared clean and well maintained. But since this was my dad decided he went to another community.

This was a nice facility. The rooms were okay but no Kitchen. Mom likes a little kitchen.

Where the Compassion?? There is none!

Be AWARE this place only wants your money! What I walked into was our mom and her room smelled of urine, she had not had a shower in over a week (even though we were paying for this care) and there were at least 10 clothing and bedding items covered in urine (which they are supposed to remove immediately). It was HORRIBLE!! The Administration DOES NOT CARE about their residents or families!!! Our mother moved in at the end of August and was charged for the whole month of August!!! And when her health was rapidly declining, they kept telling us they could add on more care for more and more money, when what our mom needed was more care then an Assisted Living facility could give, but they DID NOT WANT to LOSE the monthly renter!!! Shame on them! And when we did move mom into a nursing facility in the beginning of December, they CHARGED us FOR THE WHOLE MONTH!!! Oh and we had to pay the $1500 one-time move in "community fee"! So for our mother living in this facility for 3 1/2 months we paid $13,573.62!! There was NO COMPASSION from ANY of the ADMINISTRATORS!!!! We wanted mom to stay there as it is a nice facility and we wanted her to be well enough, but she was not, and all we got was a COLD SHOULDER AND A FINAL WITHDRAWL FROM HER ACCOUNT!! If your family member is healthy and can be there for a long time, I say move in. BUT IF THEY ARE NOT DO NOT EXPECT THEM TO BE HONEST WITH YOU AND TAKE CARE OF THEM!!!

A Place For Our Loved Ones to Continue Living!

I was thankfully guided to Grand Villa of Pinellas Park by our wonderful representative at A Place for Mom, [Removed]. She gave us a list of options and gave input on her preferred places. It came down to two places but at the end of the day the care, the convenience, and the comfort my mother felt at Grand Villa was overwhelming. She is in her second week and she is already make friends and finding a sense of belonging she was looking for.

Anyone want to play bingo?

When I first dropped my loved one off here for the first day they whole staff introduced themselves and made us feel welcome. My loved one immediately started with there activities and was playing bingo when we left. All the residents say they are happy and like it here. We have found the perfect place.

A Good Experience But Difficult Conditions

This is a nice and clean community and my mom would have liked it here if they were more wheelchair friendly. The doorways are narrow and about 28 inches wide. Some doors are heavy and difficult to open. The bathroom did not have appropriate wheelchair access. No cabinets are below the sink for those who can not reach above. This was not a good fit for my mom and not meeting her needs.

One Of My Tours

The Grand Villa of Pinellas Park looks very nice. The tour went pretty good and enjoyed seeing what is offered. This was not a fit for my mom either due to the distance from me.

A Cruise Ship on Land

The entry way is quaint and home like. The employees that I encountered are very friendly. Bonnie, their Ambassador showed my family member the ropes for the first week, she is awesome. The Chef, Miss Doris was a delight, and you would never complain about not having a good meal, or not enough to eat. Ester,, a.k.a. Sunshine is an absolute joy and asset. The Hair Salon is a wonderful convenience. Grand Villa is a nice family oriented facility. I would have liked to see more grounds areas for the residents to enjoy the outside better. Many thanks to Amanda, Nikki and Raquel for helping answer any questions I have had and continue to ask.
I would recommend Grand Villa of Pinellas Park. As Amanda would say,, "A cruise ship on land".

Good experience, overall

Overall our experience with Grand Villa has been a good one. It's a nice looking facility and the staff have been friendly and professional for the most part. We've run into a few issues regarding the transportation service, but in general things have gone well.

All in all this was not a good experience for us at all.

I feel like they didn't watch him as close as they should have. They didn't seem to be very diligent with making the residents use their assistive devices. A staff member even admitted to me that they are very short staffed. When they assessed him they came to the house, and we were very clear from the beginning about the fall risk, but it wasn't a very thorough assessment, and they didn’t seem to take what we had to say into consideration. I think had our loved one had been a little stronger and not as fragile, it would have been okay, as they specialize in dementia. We have had a terrible time getting our money back, and they have been very rude about it. All in all this was not a good experience for us at all. If your loved one is a fall risk this may not be the best choice.

They care

Mom went into the Memory Care Unit. She started in assisted living. She kind of got lost in the cracks for a few days in Memory Care, but nothing serious. In their defense they know that they are in need of better staffing and they are trying to address that. What they do well is they care and they are conscientious.

Not impressed

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Compared to some other communities I saw (including another Grand Villa location) I was not too impressed with Grand Villa of Pinellas Park. The staff here were friendly and the residents seemed well cared for, but the facility itself felt like an old fashioned nursing home. It just wasn't somewhere I thought my loved one would be comfortable.

Happy Days at Grand Villa of Pinellas Park

My 94 year old Mother has been living at Grand Villa of Pinellas Park, Florida since April 15, 2015. I moved her here from North Carolina while she was recovering from a femur fracture. I cannot thank the staff at Grand Villa enough for all the wonderful care on every level that she has received. She is so happy there which has helped so much in her recovery and general well being. She seems to make great progress everyday and I am hoping that within no time at all she will be better than ever. The facility is beautiful, very clean and welcoming, there is always happiness in the air with lots of smiles and laughter from both residents and staff. The food and different choices of food is unbelievably delicious. The entire staff goes out of their way to help in any way that they can to meet the needs of the residents there. They are not only wonderful with the residents but they have been wonderful to me, the daughter of a resident who is very proactive with my Mothers wellbeing. I would diffinently recommend Grand Villa of Pinellas Park! There is always a fun activity going on, so there is no need for anyone to get bored. It is a very special place!

My father lived in the Memory Care wing at this ALF for about a year. He was truly happy there! He loved it and didn't want to go home. The staff was kind, patient, and loving. They provided him with great food, companionship, a structured schedule, a clean room and medication distribution. I never dreamed that he would adapt so well. He was safe, clean and dressed everyday. I cannot thank the staff enough for the caring and warm atmosphere that they provided.

Best assisted living.

Although my family member was only there a short time, he received excellent care from all the employees at this facility. Maintenance was very helpful, aides were caring and attentive, dining room staff friendly. The food was very good, and the Friday afternoon happy hours a real treat - loved the live music.

they've been fabulous!

They have been absolutely fabulous at Grand Villa of Pinellas Park! They have done an excellent job taking care of mom. The customer services all the way through from the ground floor to the top is just fantastic.

The activities are good, and mom even made a couple of suggestions which the activities director took to heart and implemented.

I would highly recommend Grand Villa of Pinellas Park to anyone and everyone!

Did not have a good experience

Our experience here was not a good one. My loved one was in the memory care section and we had a big problem with other residents being allowed to wander in and out of her apartment. Night and day she would just have strangers come in, and they said there wasn't anything they could do about it. It just felt like they never had enough staff on hand, and the care suffered for it. I also was never impressed with the food.

Seems like a very nice place!

So far our experience with Grand Villa of Pinellas Park has been a good one! I don't have much else to compare it to, but we've been pleased with everything they have offered so far. The facility itself is nice looking and well kept, and the staff have all seemed very friendly. They take good care of the people who live here, and have a lot to offer in terms of amenities and activities. They are worth a look if you are looking into options in the area!

Very impressed

Recently stopped in to visit a resident of Grand Villa, it is so bright and cheerful everyone looks so happy and having fun. Building looks and smells very clean, very nice atmosphere

It's been wonderful.

It's been wonderful. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. There have been a few problems, people come in early in the morning unannounced and waking her up to deliver things she doesn't need right away. They do an exceptional job with the activities. She likes the food, but she said they give too big of portions, and once she brought it up they were able to give her less. She loves the taste and the variety of the food. They have been overwhelmingly kind and good to her and to the family. They make us feel right at home when we are there. The only thing is that it can occasionally be difficult to return a call, I know they are busy but sometimes it can take all day. It is one of the best places for the money.

We liked it.

We liked it. It was nice. The community was clean. The price is comparable to everyone else. The activity director is good. The calendar of activities looked really good. The care services also seemed like what everyone else offers.

Really nice

It was really nice. The staff was very nice. It seemed like a very nice place for those seniors. My mother’s care needs progressed to a point where they were not able to provide services for her, but it is a nice community.

Fantastic place to call home

What a wonderful place. My Dad has lived there for quite some time.He enjoys his privacy and enjoys the activities. It seems there is always something going on there.
He raves about the dining staff and the food. I had lunch with him and the dining room is clean and luxurious.
The nursing staff goes above and beyond to make sure he is comfortable. They are always smiling and ask if every thing is ok.
When I walk through the building, it looks and smells so clean.
If you are looking for a professional management and staff team for a loved one. I would highly reccomend this place.

Scincerely the best

I have to admit, in the beginning I was a bit skeptical because my dad was quite apprehensive about moving to a senior facility and being dependent.
It did not take long for dad to begin making friends. Soon after, he began to enjoy the activities, likt happy hour, games, the entertainment guests.
The staff is teriffic. The facility is always clean and nice.
The care is excellent, and the nurses always pay attention to the details.
I would highly reccomend Grand Villa.

Looks like home feels like family. So very true

The differences in Grand Villa as opposed to the other company that had the building are huge. The staff is happy , courteous and bend over backward to accomodate. My dad loves living there.
The hallways, dining room, activity area and billiards room are all clean and tidy. There are no bad odors or stains.
The management staff goes out of their way to help. 3 months ago my dad lost his room key. The maintenance guy made him another no questions asked.
I love the way the people who live there sit in the lobby joking and chatting.
Friendly, clean, happy environment. Would give more stars if they were available. Keep up the great job. Looks like home feels so much like family.

We really really, like it. I feel like we are getting what we pay for.

I feel like we are getting what we pay for. The managment staff I talk to is a five. They are very concientious in coming if she needs something. They do have bible study, but she wishes there was a gym. She would like to go on a few outings. She loves the food, the food is a five. They need a van that will transport wheelchairs. I have heard they are trying to get one. We liked the atmosphere a lot, and the really friendly administrative staff. It won't win a beauty contest, but they have a motto, something about we treat you like it's your home and we make you feel at home. It's true too! I would recommend them to everybody.

Nice place overall, but did not work out for us

They do a good job with the care here, and the facility itself is nice looking. We did have a few issues however, and ended up having to move my loved one out. My loved one was in a shared room, and was having issues with the roommate (living space crowded with medical equipment, and an absolutely-no-lights-at-night rule) that lead to a few falls. I feel like these issues could have been resolved by simply placing her with a different roommate, but that solution wasn't ever one they tried. It was a nice place but unfortunately did not work out due to these circumstances.

While I am pleased to hear your loved one received good care at Grand Villa, I am disappointed to learn about the issues related to her roommate. We make every effort to place roommates together that are compatible with each other, unfortunately, that is not always possible when apartments are not available. I want to personally apologize for your loved one's experience and wish I had the opportunity to protect every resident from a fall. We take pride in being a leader in the senior living industry and are committed to providing quality care and customer service and we want all of our residents and families to feel at home in our community. Grand Villa is committed to open communication and we welcome feedback to assist us in creating positive experiences for residents and families. Please feel free to contact me anytime at [removed]. Nice place, very friendly staff

They're doing a great job here, and my friend seems very happy. They're in the process of remodeling the whole building, inside and out, and what they've finished so far looks beautiful. The staff here are very friendly and professional, and they really get to know all the residents. They can let you know when you come in to visit where someone is and what they've been up to.

Very nice. Mom seemed to feel comfortable right away. Just hoping we can afford it.

I think they are doing quite well.

I think they are doing quite well. I think because of the problem I'm with my insurance, it's not really their fault. Communication-wise I was unaware that being in the memory section was still consider assisted living. I can't blame that on them but the new owners have only had it for like six months and I think that the problem with the communication is that they're new. As far as the facility itself, the people themselves and what they do, is good, but when you come down to the beginning part when you're getting them in the communications at the beginning part are not exactly what I would want them to be. Because of their inability and too newness to handle that properly, it was too overwhelming for me. As far as everything else goes it was fine just a real bumpy road in the beginning and that is why the overall is a four. In talking to other people they didn't have the same experience because they had other things to deal with, they had nothing but nice things to say. I liked it because it was not a huge facility and it is family owned and they were fixing to put a lot of money into remodel which they are doing and in a timely manner and a good manner and I felt it was more comfortable than other facilities. They want to do well they're striving to do well and they are following through on what their promises were. It was not institutionalized feeling.

Responsive Staff

They have been very good. They have been very responsive to anything that I have asked for, and I have nothing bad to say about them.
