My mother spent one month of short term care at the Redondo Beach Residential Care Home located at 404 Ave. E Redondo Beach CA. On the positive side, the care she received was adequate the staff was caring and helpful. The facility is dirty, and sparsely furnished (a few chairs). The television did not work for the entire month, residents were told not to use it that she was buying a new one (didn't happen during the month my mother was there). Their vacuum was "broken" as well so no vacuuming either.
My mother chose this residence based on a brochure she read at the hospital, according to the brochure there would be activities, games, and others to interact with. Needless to say there were no activities or games. The food was sub-standard and they did not accommodate her dietary needs.
It is disappointing to know that places like this are still in business and caring for our older citizens................

$3500 per mo (private room)$3k shared., this looks the best fit for us so far. They adapt to her needs, currently have 3 residents. Reqmt is to stay for first 30 days and 30 days move out notice. It is a stretch budget wise but it can work.
