Customer Reviews

Loved the people. So friendly. Lots of services. A little outdated. Didn’t seem like the right fit.

Review of American House East Ii Senior Living

Very good

I feel safe – staff is very helpful and understanding. Enjoy the menus. I feel chefs try to please – feel blessed to have a chapel in building and nice to have a park within walking originally - now harder to walk too. My doctor appointments and dentists don’t have to bother my family – shopping available. Field trips available apple orchard - Like gardening – walking exercise available. Fun social get together celebrating resident birthdays – able to join a choir/ great director – makes you feel I can still sing.

J.P., thank you for your 5-star review of our community! We're so happy to hear you're glad at American House East II and we appreciate your feedback.

The surroundings are beautiful. It’s beautiful trees. The officers are very friendly and supportive. The staff is well trained, I have many friends here so it is never lonely.
The activities are varied and pleasurable, many exercise classes. The food is always delicious and meets my dietary requirements. There is free transport for appointments. Newspapers delivered to apartments. Good reception for my computers. I like our den & closet space. The balcony is great for the flower box and chairs. Nice kitchen. My husband was on Hospice here and treated very lovingly. Our visiting families are welcomed – often with special events.

Nice Place

We toured a few communities and this community was nice but my sister just didn't think it would be quite right for her. The staff was very friendly and nice they gave us good information on the tour. In walking around the community appeared to be well kept and well maintained. They seemed to offer quite a bit of activities for residents to do

My Experience

Overall I really like American House. My loved one has only been there a couple of weeks and still adjusting.
The only thing I don't like so far is the food. I've eaten there a lot and for every decent meal you get 3 nasty ones. Ham salad sandwich, Asian ribs and the beef pepper patty to name a few.
Oh and the Tuna casserole ugh!
Other than that I really like it there.

Loved This Place!!

American House East II Senior Living was a beautiful well-maintained community. The staff were very friendly and seemed very welcoming. During my tour, they answered all of my questions and took me around the whole building. They even gave me an apple pie to take home, which was absolutely delicious!

My Mom Is Settling In Well

My mom is doing fine in her new home. She is able to go to some activities and she tries to enjoy some but she is not able to hear well. I think the food is fine for my mom. She occupies her time well and I take her out through out the week.

nice place to mediocre unfortunately

Mom has lived here for several months now....she is
happy with everything except the meals. They are
ok somedays...but not so great on others. I have picked
up a few "to go" meals in the dining room on my way in
to visit and I laugh sometimes....not enough food for a kid let alone an adult. Apparently the food situation was discussed at one of the last meetings for the residents....
but the meals are still pretty mediocre most days.
I think if they can fix this one problem...the place will
be a really nice place to live.

Five Stars

They have done really well with getting my Dad moved in, escorting him to his meals if needed, and attending to his needs. So far I am pleased with the facility.

They were awesome!

They are awesome. They are extremely helpful with moving my Mom in to making sure she was comfortable. Now that she has been there a couple of months they are just as kind and considerate as they were in the beginning. Working with A Place for Mom was awesome too. The informational emails were very helpful.

We didn't end up choosing this place, but we were impressed on the tour. One aspect that really impressed us was the initial consultation. They really took the time to sit down with my loved one and find out what his interests were, so that they could incorporate them into the activities they offer. That was really impressive to us!

Much different from Sunrise...

Much different from Sunrise. Residents are much more independent. Building was rather large with fairly long walk to dining room. Price was about half of Sunrise, with fewer services.

Thank you for your review of our East II location. An independent living environment is certainly characteristic of American House properties, however, we do offer on-site care services for residents at some of our locations. East II is one of our larger properties with multiple ways to access the dining room so we apologize if you found the length of your walk a bit of a distance. Our entire organization prides itself on the amount of activities and services available to residents. We would be more than happy to talk to you about any specific services you were looking for. Thank you for your feedback!

My sister and I visited American House East II, as I was not able to contact East I. The phone was always busy. We liked East II and knew that our Mom would also. It is located close to Mom's family brother, quite a few grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It would be a lot of walking for Mom to get from her apartment to the lobby/dining room, even with using her walker. The cost of getting an escort for 3 meals daily and attend any activities which Mom would be interested in would be expensive. Mom is very social and would not have any problem making friends. The building is old, but seems to be maintained to the best that they can do. The basement activity room needs improvement with ventilation and appearance.
