By the end of November, AFH at Silver Lake, LLC will have a huge wheelchair accessible shower on top of current 2 bathrooms.

AFH at Silver Lake only offers home cooked meals (we never serve powdered eggs or canned fruits!). We always strive to provide nutritious and well balanced diets while trying to accommodate each resident's preference.

AFH at Silver Lake, LLC thoroughly monitors and documents all activities of daily living of each resident (e.g., exercises - what kind and how long?, shower or sponge bath?, meal - refused? 100% 50%, etc).

Even if it is not ordered by a doctor, AFH at Silver Lake, LLC checks all residents' vital signs daily (or more often as needed) to monitor their health. Miki as an RN, monitors these documentations and reports to doctors/families and shares concerns as needed.

Although it is not mandated by law, all caregivers of AFH at Silver Lake, LLC keep tract of each resident's bowel status by diligent documentation and provide medications as needed per order.

Just like hospitals or nursing homes, our caregivers (all of them have experiences of working at nursing home or hospitals) document the status of each resident everyday to monitor their health or keep track of any other issues or concerns.

Miki, RN BSN CMSRN and her husband, Michael, business manager, are the owners of the AFH at Silver Lake, LLC. Miki is a Registered Nurse graduated from University of Washington and has both hospital and long term/home care nursing experiences. Her interest has been in geriatric nursing where she found her genuine passion working with elderly residents. Our main focus is to achieve the best interest of both resident and family by continuous striving to meet their needs. The home is fully staffed with 24/7 caregivers certified for dementia and mental health. AFH at Silver Lake, LLC will make every effort to support your loved one live life to the fullest by offering individually tailored personal care to meet their preferences.

AFH at Silver Lake, LLC provide daily activities based on residents' interest. Other than table top arts and crafts or movie nights, we offer and encourage residents daily exercises such as light walking, stretching, range of motion and pedaling to improve general health status as well as increase a sense of well-being.

Last July, we made a homemade chocolate cake from scratch to celebrate our resident's 92nd birthday. Due to COVID19, her family gathered outside the window and sang a birthday song! Everyone shared the cake and really loved it!

All of our residents really enjoyed homemade Fourth of July fruit pies! We celebrate the birthdays of each of our residents as well as holidays.

We have a cozy and spacious double occupancy bedroom.

Last July was one of our residents' 80th birthday! Due to COVID19, the resident's family gathered at the backyard porch to celebrate their loved one. It was such a heartwarming moment! Happy Birthday N.V.!
