Wonderful home, amazing staff
Moriah and the entire staff at A New Life have been amazing to work with during the recent move of my step-mother in to this excellent Adult Family Home. They listened to our needs, gave us great advice and truly worked with our rushed schedule due to a recent fall and hospital stay, but never pressured us in any way to make a decision.
I can't say enough about their compassion and care and feel so lucky to have found this wonderful place. Every time we visit we are greeted warmly and the home is always impeccable, has a very comfortable and homey feeling and a certain dignity often lacking at other similar facilities. The caregivers are warm, patient and friendly and the rest of the staff kind and loving. The table is always set for a formal meal and each client is treated with respect. What a relief to feel that my step-mother is so well taken care of, during this difficult time of late-stage Alzheimer's decline.
Delegating nurse recommendation
As a delegating nurse, RN I know most adult family homes in Whatcom or Skagit County. When my mom needed care this is the home I chose for her. Moira, the owner and her staff are exceptional. My mom is thriving in this home. Clean, great food, loving care 24/7 is what this home provides to a few very lucky residents. My mom is lucky to spend her last years in this beautiful home. Highly recommend it.
My mom has come here after she fell in the Assisted living facility she was living. The staff is great. very responsive to our needs. Mom needed a lot of help, including night care. The food is fantastic. Most meals are home made with organic produce. Owner is a dietitian and accommodate a variety of diets, food allergies or intolerances. My mom is treated with respect and since she has been here no more falls occurred. would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, clean facility without the institutional look and feel
Lake Whatcom area. Mom not ...
Lake Whatcom area. Mom not fond of water. Close to Arica.

From the Office
A New Life AFH is located in beautiful Bellingham, Washington and is a great place to have a loved one living at. Lake Whatcom is nearby, and this makes this one great establishment to let a loved one live at. The city is close enough for shopping on days off and things of that nature, so you can be sure there is plenty for your loved one to do as they stay there and get taken care of. This senior care establishment will take very good care of your loved one. Assisted living facilities like this one are great because they give a person a chance to be their own person with a little bit of help. Your loved one may need a lot of help through the day, or they may need just a little bit of help with the basics of life. Whatever the case may be, this place will have them covered. Since this place is located near the city, it's very easy to get to so you can visit anytime you need to. It's good for a person living in a senior care facility to have guests, and since this is a 24/7 care facility you can probably work out a time to visit any time you'd like. Because of the closeness to the city, it's going to be possible for you to take out your loved one to have a great time shopping or eating out. That, or a visit to the lake nearby may be in order!
