Finally found solace for Mom
Within the last year our 89 year old Mother's dementia has worsened. She was unable to remain safely at her home and we were worried she could harm herself. I contacted A Place for Mom and a few co-workers to ask about home healthcare. While A Place for Mom set me up with a homecare service we had to apply for VA benefits to help cover the costs, this would take several months to come through. In the meantime we ventured out on our own through Craigslist and networking. After numerous interviews with capable applicants we determined our mom needed something more than 4 hours a day 3 days a week. So I went back through A Place for Mom and spoke with Carla. She could sense my frustration and offered much needed advice. After visiting 3 nursing homes, we came across Sunshine Residential and immediately felt she would be a good fit here. The environment is clean, friendly, and cozy. Our mom has been there two weeks now an we feel she is settling in. Thank goodness for A Place for Mom, and a great big thanks to Carla. We can all breathe a sigh of relief.

After visiting this facility we are hoping this is our last stop. We feel this is our Mom's home, and we would be more than pleased to hve her live here.
