Customer Reviews

Good living at great price

My mother has lived here for 3-4 yrs. There was a problem with her kitchen floor buckling but it was repaired. There may be other issues in the building that I don't know about. But for the cost of living there it's pretty good. Their laundry is set outside once a week in evening and returned in the morning. Someone comes to their apt once a week to clean it. She sets her garbage out, outside her door and someone picks it up to take to dumpster. Last I knew, the option to purchase the meal plan was a choice. My mother likes the choices she gets and finds them to be enough. She also can cook in her apt when she wants. Breakfast is the only meal not served daily. We were very grateful to find a clean safe place for our mother to live.

At first tour the facility appeared fine..but there are many maintenance issues that should have been fixed a long time ago. There are many who live here who are on walkers or use canes and the tile floors are buckled in the hallways and this is such a safety hazard I can't believe it. The exterior of some of the walls is completely buckled revealing the rebar underneath which compromises the entire structure. They are in process of new roofing throughout...but one lady said that she has had standing water in her room for almost a year from leaking roof and no one has tried to help her prevent it or clean it. Mold issues, I assume, now. Purchasing at least $100 a month in their prepared meals is required...the food is terrible...tiny tiny portions and only one helping at that. My sisterinlaw eats in her room mostly...I prepare 5 meals a week and take them to her. This requirement seems illegal or at least unethical. Staff is friendly until you sign...then are remote at best. As an independent facility surprised to see the majority needs assistance and it is misleading. Screening should be more stringent to determine the need for assistance up front. All in all, could be much worse but I am very disappointed.Residents do appear friendly at least.
