Devonshire Very Disappointing
Devonshire is very nice for well people. Lots of activities and it looks good. But....
This is a very big but....once people have health issues, the Designated Assisted Living is atrocious. While Home Care does a pretty good job while the individual is living independently, once our loved one had significant medical/nursing issues they were not dealt with in a timely fashion. The Case Coordinator took extremely long to initiate appropriate care. Often weeks and the family picked up on the health issues as well providing care and supposes until the facility care kicked in many days later ( dressings and dressing changes). Attention was minimal and understanding of the client's level of dependence non-existent. Staff do not have the education nor the ability to assess well and only when we felt our loved one needed hospitalization did they initiate it.
Once we knew our loved one was not going to survive and informed the Devonshire, administrative staff wanted a move out date that very same day we spoke. We told the staff person we would let her know as soon as we could once we had a mover organized. She was very irritated that we couldn't give her a date the very same day.
Our experience as a family with the care and support for our loved one was extremely stressful and disappointing from this facility. None of us would recommend you consider it.
Very modern facility . 2 bedroom plus den is very attractive- life lease only. A bit too far from shopping to carry parcels. Well appointed suites.
