Customer Reviews

Great Care by Gracie

Nice place very friendly staff. It is an independent community but if there is any kind of care assistance needed they have [name removed] care services who works independently with a office above beauty shop, met [name removed] who has been helping residents at Crosswood Oaks for 18 years along with her daughter [name removed], very affordable. Angels if you ask me. They were able to look over Mom while we were on vacation and look over cat when we took mom on vacation. They are there 7 days a week from 7 am - 6:30pm on call for any of your needs which put me at ease with Mom. Definitely one of the pluses about this community.

Must Read

I am a hard person to be impressed. But the moment I walk in I was greeted. Residents were laughing and talking about some Luau they had just had. The front my not be as new as other communities but the apartments I saw were remodeled which I was impressed. Lots of storage space in the apartment and a storage unit is included with the rent. I was also surprise there is no community fee, and the food was really good. I could feel the warmed in this community and compared to others I have went to that were remodeled or new this one has the charm and warmed you look for. I will refer this place to anyone who is looking for a community.

Hostile environment

This place used to be nice about 7 years ago. The people were all very nice and the food was great and hot. However, during holidays the residence always got bagged meals so that the Staff could get home to their loved ones. You would think that they would cater to the seniors who pay over 3 grand a month plus a 3 percent increase per year. For the past 6 plus years this place has turned to garbage. The food has turned to crap. Since [name removed] has become the manager or Dictator of this facility employee turn over has been in abundance. Whether she didn't like them and fired them or her rudeness just ran them to greener pastures. Tenants are leaving constantly as well and if [name removed] doesn't like them she tells them that they can't come back and visit their friends who still live here. Why corporate hasn't figured out the problem here is beyond me. It took 8 months to complete a basic fire drill. It's been 5 years since a light hanging outside was mentioned to her and its still broken. I could go on and on. Bottom line, neither [name removed] nor corporate cares about any of these tenants. They only care about the money. Currently I know of 3 tenants leaving within the month and a post a couple of days ago posted about the bed bugs and how they handled it was just Horrible. Just horrible. What else. The windows on the second floor haven't been cleaned in 9 years. Limbs banging against the upstairs window and walls for at least 6 years that get nothing done about. Just way too many Issues to continue. 0 votes if possible.

When we entered, I was impressed by all the residents in the front area. There was an abundance of seating and a good amount of lighting from the windows and indoor lights. There was an air of friendliness and residents were interacting with each other in a pleasant way.

I went to the front desk and told [name removed] that I was there for a tour. She said that [name removed] was otherwise involved at the time so she took us on a tour.

She was very pleasant and outgoing. I felt comfortable immediately. I was impressed by every area we went. She showed us the activity board and there were at least two or three things to do every day. I noticed that there didn't seem to be any classes like history so I asked about that. She said that I wasn't the first person to mention it. She said that they have a new activities director and she would mention having one started.

She showed us a model and it was beautiful. There were a lot of features that I believe my mom would like. There was a storage room available if my mom needs additional storage. A laundry room on each floor. There was a communal room on each floor with a table to play cards. There is a library with books that they can borrow. I saw fruit on a table that is available to all of the residents.

After the tour, [name removed] met with my son and I. She continued with the easy going comfortability that [name removed] had. We talked about the financial side and she was informative without pressure to "buy". She understood that we were checking out other places, but didn't try to "compete" with others. She just let her attitude and the place to speak for itself. In my eyes, they did everything right. I was also impressed that [name removed] said even if we didn't choose them, she'd like to meet my mom. I left there with a good feeling about my mom living there.

took tour of this place with [name removed], it's a very nice place and I liked the location. Waiting on reply from [name removed] their Financial guy.

Mom was happy here

Mom lived here for 2.5 years and was very independant and loved it. But she needed more care and had to move. This community was always nice and clean. It was an older building. The food was ok it wasn't a five star restaurant. She loved all the daily activities they had to offer her.

I listen to my mom who lives here complain at how bad the food is here. It makes me sad that after the high cost she pays the food is served untasty, small portions, no seconds available they're always out, and no condiments on the table. If they want something like ketchup for there
hot dog they have to run to the kitchen to get it.
When they called in early for a meal substitute asking for a grilled cheese instead they were told were out of bread. really!
now thats just ridiculous.
I can go on but at this point you should be able to get
that the dining experience is nothing to be excited about.

Independent living only, but healthcare and hospice available. Long corridors and few elevators. they are keeping costs down. Consequently no breakfast served, but cereal available. They don't do linen as others do, etc. Otherwise, pleasant. 31/2 stars.

Avg age 84; As young as 62; 2 meals, laundry room, cleaning, lots of socialization. Apartment style - Studio $2550, 1BR start @ $2970. There are 121 apartments; Of 115 people, 10 under 70.

Friendly staff!

My tour of Crosswood Oaks also went well. The tour guide that we met with was knowledgeable and friendly, they took us around the building. It all came down to my mother's decision and she chose another community.

I took a tour!

I toured many communities with being Crosswood Oaks. It was a very nice community. All of the staff were welcoming and the tour guide that took me around the building was knowledgeable and friendly. It was a good experience, but not the best for my loved ones.

Great staff

The staff is really great and very welcoming.

The service was excellent. The entire staff were friendly and very helpful. They were always cheerful to see you.

The residents were also friendly and happy to see a new face. Would recommend Crossood oaks to all.

Four Stars

Well we are having some problems with the bookkeeping process of the place right now. We are just trying to get all of her payments in order. But that is about the only problem that we have had with Crosswood Oaks.

Good value, nice place, comfortable location

Value is good compared to the other places we looked at. It's independent living, not alot of services. They provide meals. We were looking for a place for my Dad. They have a pretty good ratio of men. They have alot of activities. They seem to be very friendly. They always welcome us. The meals are good; they provide lunch and dinner; it would be good if they provided breakfast. We narrowed it down to three places, and my father chose it because it is only a mile from us, and in the same neighborhood, so he feels more comfortable.

Very nice ! Felisha was a gem ! The place was beautiful and the people were very happy. But, too expensive for us

Beautiful, comfortable older community

Things have gone very well so far at Crosswood Oaks! It's a very nice looking place, it is an older building so it may not feel as modern and sterile as a brand new community, but it is a clean and comfortable environment. The surrounding environs are beautiful! It is located in a wooded area with plenty of places to walk, and you'll often see turkeys and rabbits when you're out! The only negative aspect for me is that many of the residents are not as active or mobile as I am, which limits social options somewhat, but I and a few others are trying to get some activities started for the more active residents. It's a great place, it is quirky and has a lot of character, and I would highly recommend it to others!

Felisha was very nice. The location of the facility was great - right next to the library. Rooms seemed clean with different areas for gathering for games and activities. Restaurant looked very nice too. This was the first facility I have visited so hard to compare. Only drawback may be that it is independent living only - would have to move if situation with mom changed.
