Could be so much more
On the plus side, the facility and grounds are beautifully maintained and immaculately clean. Most of the support staff are experienced and extremely helpful. Residents are cordial. It's affordable.
But much is lacking. The director is pleasant, but appears to be inexperienced and uninformed. The head nurse is argumentative and dismissive. The food is 1950s rural Midwest cuisine--heavy on carbs, fat, sugar; lots of fruit cocktail, gravy, jello, and mayo. Activities are basic: Bingo, coloring, crafts, chapel, hymn singing, minimal exercise, and bus trips to local discount stores. The library is disorganized. Weekly films are old and weren't good even when new. Nothing for the life of the mind. Inquiries about change and/or additions are politely rebuffed.
With constructive senior staffing changes, the Villa has significant potential. Currently, it is disappointing.
This looked like a nice clean community when we visited. The person that took us on tour was nice. This community did seem to have less active residents than what we were looking for. I would say this might be a community to look into for an older resident.
