Customer Reviews

Mom's Place for care and comfort.

I was very happy with the care here for my mom. We were happy with the staff who were very caring to my mom's needs. She likes the environment and the activiites that were offered. The menu was appealing to her and she liked the residents. We would highly recommend this community for the excellent care and value to other families.

The Perfect Option for Our Family

My Father John was cared for by [Removed] and her team of caregivers. I can't say enough good things about D & P Special Needs Center. I was first drawn to the positive energy I felt when I spoke to [Removed]. I knew my father would be in good hands under her care. The home was immaculate, the care was kind, intuitive, attentive and professional. The family atmosphere provided is a real plus in helping a resident feel at home. The care team helped to support us through this difficult step in our family life. We will be forever grateful.

Neat, clean, and beautiful facility. Very calm environment and residents appeared to be enjoying their surroundings. Staff was very welcoming.

Immaculate home, compassionate, responsive care givers, couldn't ask for a better nursing home for my loved one!

very pleased

I am very pleased with D & P Special Needs Center. It is extremely clean. I thought it was sweet and charming that the staff paint my moms nails. I just thought that was such a special thing for them to do. They try to keep my mother stimulated. She does not participate in activities and they are sensitive to that and don't push her too much. I cant see that there is anything for them to improve on here.

Absolutely great. A perfect fit for my mom.

I could not be more pleased with the care my elderly mother with dementia received at D&P. There was always someone nearby to respond to her needs and requests. She was genuinely happy there. The Petrascu family and their hired caregivers love their residents like family. They are great at solving problems with creative and loving solutions. The visiting doctor was readily available. The food was great. I can't think of one thing to complain about. Maybe not the right home for someone who is still going to Bingo and doing those kind of activities, but for a less able person it is a wonderful setting.

They are very responsive, and very kind, loving people.

It's a small place so there aren't a lot of residents, and that can limit the activities a little. They seem to make a lot of home cooked meals and are very responsive to our requests, and they use fresh fruits and vegetables. There is no problem with communication at all if I want a call twice a week they will call me twice a week, and if I call or email with a question, they get right back to me. One of the reasons we chose this over some of the places that offered more activities and room, is that the level of care is so good. They are honest, they say what they do, and they do what they say. They are very responsive, and very kind, loving people.

Daniela is a warm and caring, very nice place.

They are very good, excellent!

They are very good, excellent! The only thing that I can think of is just simply having maybe a little more room to move around in, there is only one big common space but there is a large table there. Other than that, the food is good, the service, the help, the care, all of it. The physician that comes in is good, it's just a great place. We chose it for all of those reasons, the value, the personal care, the staff, the cleanliness, they were just great.

This is an ideal alternative to large, institutional facilties

Daniela, Paul and the staff at D & P Special Needs Center are all fantastic. The facilities are up to date, clean and exceptionally well maintained. My mother lived out her final days as a resident at D & P and I could not have been more pleased with the care and attention she received there.

The D & P environment is that of an intimate family setting, while at the same time providing a level of care tailored to the special needs of each resident. They are equipped to address special dietary needs, mobility challenges and can arrange for on-site therapy. A physician regularly visits and is also available on call as needed. There was never anything my mother needed in the way of care that D & P could not provide.

The warm, loving, caring and interactive environment at D & P is, in my view, far superior to that which is available at large, institutional facilities and it comes at something close to one half the cost. D & P is state licensed and is Medicaid qualified.

Super Place for Mom

I was and still is very impressed with this place. Not only is it closer to my residence but it is more conducive for senior care . The smaller family style residence is the way to go, they make sure that mom is getting all the care she needs and more. D & P Special Needs Center goes way above and beyond what we would have ever imagined her care to be. Thank you Daniella and Paul for making this available and at a cost we can afford for mom.

Daniela is a very effusive, loving person. The residents were clean, calm friendly and happy. This could be a good fit. The new addition is scheduled to be finished in three weeks. Daniela was interested and full of ideas about improving my mother's nutritional status.
