Gift box subscriptions are the new fruit-of-the-month club, and as their popularity increases, gift box services are getting pretty specific about their offerings. That’s good news for gift givers, because the more particular a gift box service is about its target recipients, the easier it is to score a hit with that box of surprises. Among the services with a special slant is Lemon Drop Gifts, which curates its gift boxes with moms and other women of a certain age in mind.
Here’s our review of Lemon Drop Gifts. We’d love to hear from you! Share your opinion by writing a review.
Lemon Drop Gifts is a gift box subscription service designed to help adult children, grandchildren, nieces, and friends set up regular gift deliveries to mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and friends. Subscribers can elect to send a single box or choose a multi-month subscription. Box items may include food, tea, stationery, fashion jewelry, and accessories.
For example, the June 2015 box contains a Belgian chocolate soufflé cake mix packaged in a Mason-style mug, a lightweight Elly Preston printed scarf, and a boxed set of notecards. The July 2015 box delivers a Sonoma Lavender sachet, a semiprecious stone necklace, and a book of watercolor art and prose by New Jersey designer Sandy Gingras.
Lemon Drop Gifts posts previews on its site of upcoming gift box contents, to give customers an idea of what’s on the way and to allow them to change delivery to a different month if they feel a particular box won’t delight the recipient. Senders can include a personalized message with each delivery and have the option to upload a digital photo each month that will be printed and included in the gift box.
Monthly billing for multi-month subscriptions is not available. Payment is required in full when customers subscribe, which could be a budget issue for some shoppers. Alternate food items to accommodate dietary restrictions aren’t available, although Lemon Drop Gifts says that may be an option later on.
Lemon Drop Gifts boxes can be delivered within the continental US. Shipping is included in the price of each gift box. Sales tax may apply to purchases made from North Carolina addresses. Subscriptions do not auto-renew; subscribers will receive an email before their subscription term ends to remind them to re-subscribe if they choose. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time for a pro-rated refund. Gift boxes are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
