Product Description:

NorthShore sells a vast array of incontinence care items under its own brand and from major brands including TENA, Depend, Poise, and Attends. Items are grouped into several categories.

  • Diapers, underwear, and pads: There are 10 categories to choose among for adults, including pull-on disposable underpants, washable absorbent undergarments, adhesive pads, swim protection, and side-tabbed briefs.
  • Bed pads and furniture protection: Shoppers will find disposable and washable pads for bedding and seating, washable furniture protectors, waterproof mattress and pillow protectors, and anti-allergy and anti-bedbug bedding protectors.
  • Cleanup “extra care” items: This category includes personal-care wipes, skin cleansers and ointments, and odor-control products for laundry and household use. Gloves for cleanup and medical exams are offered in latex, nitrile, and vinyl. NorthShore also sells the Diaper Dekor line of disposal pails and liners, along with other odor-control disposal bags from Revere and OdorNo.

NorthShore Care Incontinence Supplies

Pros:

NorthShore’s selection of products is comprehensive, reducing the need to visit several merchants to get supplies. The site’s navigation menus make it easy to shop by product or by category, so shoppers can find items for men, women, young people, and even pets. There are also quick-find categories for bowel incontinence and obesity-care products. For allergy sufferers, latex-free items are clearly marked on product pages.

An auto-ship program is available for customers who want to set up recurring deliveries. In addition to the prices listed on each product page, NorthShore offers interactive price lists to make shopping and ordering easier for businesses and repeat customers.

Customer service is available 7 days a week by phone, return call, online chat, and email. The company prides itself on answering business-hours customer calls with a live person rather than a phone tree. Spanish-speaking customer service representatives are available.  As of July 2015, NorthShore has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and has been BBB-accredited since 2007.

Cons:

Free shipping is not available for most items.  Auto-ship setup is not available online; customers must call to arrange for the service.

Fine print:

Customers may return damaged or incorrect items for a refund or replacement by contacting NorthShore within 5 days of delivery. Other items may be returned or exchanged as long as the packaging is unopened; buyer is responsible for shipping costs on these returns.

Cost:

Prices may be higher than national retailers for some items. For example, at this writing, a 64-pack of Poise Maximum Absorbency long pads cost $18.99 at Walgreens, $18.94 at Amazon, and $37.50 at NorthShore. A 64-pack of TENA men’s protective underwear in size M/L cost $51.45 at Amazon, $72.95 at NorthShore, and was not available from Walgreen’s. A similar item from NorthShore’s own brand, FlexSupreme pull-on underwear, cost $64.99 for a 64-pack in medium size.

Best for…

In-home caregivers who want to save time and are not price-sensitive; private care home managers who want to set up recurring bulk orders of supplies for multiple clients; shoppers who want responsive customer service.
