Front Desk Volunteer

Memory Connections Program Volunteers

Description: The Memory Connections program is an evidence-informed program for people experiencing early memory loss, such as mild cognitive impairment or early stage Alzheimer’s disease. The participants in this program meet weekly to enjoy various cognitive and physical activities to exercise their brains.

Fall Prevention Coach

Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area

Description: The Falls Prevention Program is designed to help older adults 60 years of age and older reduce their fear of falling through group discussion, problem-solving strategies and increasing the physical activity levels of those who have concerns about falls. Would you like to learn how to coach A Matter of Balance falls prevention class within your community? No teaching experience necessary.

Office Volunteer for Hospice

Description: We are looking for Office Support Volunteers here in Round Rock. Duties: anything from answering phones, putting away supplies, filing, building packets, to whatever needs to be done! Our biggest need: Wednesday mornings from 8 or 9 to 12noon. Or any part of that time period. Your main task would be to help answer the phones. Hours: Anytime Monday – Friday 8-5. You pick your day(s) and hours.

Volunteer with Drive a Senior

Drive a Senior – North Central Austin

Description: We need volunteers who are willing to drive an older adult to a medical appointment or to other important destinations. Volunteers assign themselves based on their own schedules, even on Saturdays. Each week can be different. Commitment varies – even one drive a month helps! We also need volunteers who can help answer the calls from our clients and set up free rides for them. Openings are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 am – noon at our office.

Description: Are you passionate about Veterans and Military families? Would you like to give back to our heroes and show our appreciation? Soldiers’ Angels is looking to grow our Angel family in Austin! We are looking for an active VA Rep and Deputy to help us expand our Veteran Support Program and be leaders to our Patient Visit Volunteers. VAVS Patient Visit Volunteers go to our VA Hospitals, provide comfort items to our Veterans, and spend quality time with them thanking them for their service!

Audiobook Recording Studio Volunteers

Talking Book Program

Description: There are three positions available to volunteers in the studio: Reviewer, Monitor, and Narrator. These positions are unified under what we call “the recording team.” The team works together, under the guidance of studio staff, to produce digital audio books.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team Recruitment Chair + Subcommittee

Description: The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team Recruitment Chair and Subcommittee will be responsible for recruitment of new Walk teams and the New Team Kickoff event. The Team Recruitment Committee will recruit teams from all sectors of the community and coach the new teams to fundraise through calls with team captains.
