Senior Services of Wichita is non-profit organization that administers senior centers, provides senior mentors, and helps seniors with employment. The program operates the Meals on Wheels program that provides congregate meals in the senior centers, delivers meals to homebound seniors, and also has a Roving Pantry, where they bring food out to senior’s homes. The program also provides in-home respite and in-home support services.

Senior Wednesdays is a program that is offered by a collaboration of 12 organizations. Senior Wednesdays offers a schedule of entertaining activities that seniors can enjoy together every Wednesday. There is a full schedule of trips to museums, movie days, and other fun trips.

Catholic Charities is a non-profit social service agency that provides many different types of programs for young and old people. Catholic Charities provides an adult day program. They also offer programs for adults with disabilities.

Senior Expo is an annual event that brings organizations together under one roof so that seniors can learn more about all of the senior programs in Wichita. Every year, there are new and entertaining programs, interesting presentations, activities, and food. Presentations include education, history, new home technology, health, and art. People over the age of 55 enter the Senior Expo and the museums free of charge.

Central Plains Area Agency on Aging is the prime resource for Wichita’s seniors. The agency arranges in-home services, case management, community services, nursing home care, caregiver services, senior centers, the aging and disability resource center, transportation, and a caregiver chat. The senior centers administer the Meals on Wheels program, where seniors can come together for a hot, nutritious, congregate meal. They also deliver hot meals to homebound seniors. The agency also provides help with home repairs.
