Best of Tucson Senior Living 2016

Before you choose an assisted living community, Alzheimer’s care center, or retirement community to spend your retirement years, compare facilities from award-winning providers in Tucson and the surrounding areas. These centers have earned Senior Advisor’s Best of Senior Living Award for meeting and exceeding residents’ and their families’ expectations. Each center has received positive reviews and high ratings.

Assisted Living

When you live independently, but are starting to require a little more help in areas like meal preparation, housecleaning, or personal care, an assisted living community could be the answer.

Sunrise at River Road has won the Best of Senior Living award for the last two years (2015 and 2016). The center provides residents with a relaxing atmosphere of views of the mountains surrounding Tucson as well as pets and fresh flowers. Meals and complimentary transportation are provided. The facility also provides Alzheimer’s care for dementia patients.

Residents and family members have left an astounding 32 reviews on the site. One reviewer commented, “Very good ambiance the facility looks like a Victorian mansion and can't say enough good things. We love this facility and dad is very well taken care of. Living in the facility is like living in a Victorian house we love it.”

Atria Campana Del Rio brings to life the Tucson area with Spanish-style architecture and interior decorating. More than just an assisted living community, the center provides residents with a state-of-the-art movie theater and entertainment lounge, a chapel, and two libraries. The facility also offers activities to engage residents as well as Alzheimer’s care.

One reviewer praised the center for the activities regularly offered, “Atria Campana Del Rio is a nice community. The staff are very friendly and communicate with the family very well. The food offered is very good and they offer a variety of options for my mom to enjoy. The community has a number of activities for mom to engage in. I really like that the staff knock on her door to invite her to participate in the activities that are going on.”

Alzheimer’s Care

Patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia require intensive care. Facilities, like Sunrise at River Road and Atria Campana Del Rio combine assisted living with memory care. The following is another 2016 winner of the Best of Senior Living award.

The Fountains at La Cholla provides residents with full-service care and security. Meals are provided as well as transportation. If needed, both respite care and hospice care are available.

One reviewer described the center as the gold standard, “I would recommend The Fountains to my family and friends. After visiting I was ready to move in myself! This was the first community we looked at and it definitely set the bar high for other communities. My mom is still getting settled but already loves the community. I have had the opportunity to enjoy meals with her and the food is great. We received great service and the dining room staff was very helpful. My mom is also looking forward to attending the exercise programs available. Her room has a great view and she is very comfortable in her new apartment. The entire staff is very friendly.”
