One of the perks of living in Surprise is that you can enjoy the concerts of the Surprise Pops Band at no charge! The Pops band has concerts throughout the year, and most of them are in Surprise. So, check the schedule to see when they play next and head out for an evening of musical entertainment.

2. Pioneer Living History Museum

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a pioneer back in the 1800s? Now you can, at the Pioneer Living History Museum. This Phoenix museum has over 80 acres of space dedicated to the pioneer times. You can feel like you are a part of the town right when it first started and learn more about what life was like then.

3. Del Webb Sun Cities Museum

This museum is dedicated to the preservation and history of the country’s first active older adult community. The museum is set up just like it was in 1960 when this city first started. The museum is free of charge and open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

4. West Valley Art Museum

The West Valley Art Museum is home to works of art from over 60 different countries. You can view the permanent collection that includes over 2,000 pieces of art as well as rotating exhibits that travel around the country. The museum is open Monday through Thursday and is located in Peoria, Arizona.

5. Litchfield Park Historical Society And Museum

You can learn more about the history of Litchfield and the surrounding areas through the many exhibits at the museum. You can learn about farmers, the people of the valley, cotton companies, and more. There is no charge to get into the museum, and they are open Wednesday through Friday.

6. Arizona Challenger Space Center

If you have always wanted to know more about space and explore our solar system, then the space center is the perfect place to be. You can learn about astronauts, see satellites and rockets, and find out more about our universe. The Center is in Peoria.

7. Wildlife World

Located just a short ride away in Litchfield Park, Wildlife World holds the largest collection of exotic animals in Arizona. You can visit the zoo, the aquarium, and safari park to see a vast array of different species and learn more about them. Every Tuesday, seniors can get $2 off the price of admission and AAA members can get $2 off every day.

8. White Tank Mountain Regional Park

Enjoy the great outdoors at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. There are trails to hike, wildlife to see, and educational opportunities all over. You can stop by the nature center to learn more about the local wildlife and plants in the area or head out on your own to spot them in their natural habitat. Seniors can get a discount on annual passes.

9. Uptown Alley

If you enjoy bowling, then you should consider joining a league at Uptown Alley. They have senior leagues, and as part of a league, you can enjoy discounts on shoe rentals and lanes. There are three different senior leagues to choose from and each of them meets at a different time to fit your schedule.

10. Surprise Aquatic Center

Need a place to cool off? Try the Surprise Aquatic Center. There are swimming lanes, diving boards, slides, and a whirlpool. Residents only have to pay $2 to use the facilities.
