There are plenty of gay-friendly social gatherings to enjoy in Seattle. Gay City Arts regularly puts on shows for people to enjoy. The group partners with other LGBT organizations in the area to help these shows and events come together.

Seattle is yet another city that has its own Pride festival. It is typically held around the end of June. People can participate in the parade by attending, or they can choose to volunteer. Live music, food trucks, artist booths, and much more are set up for the duration of the festival.

Those that want to enjoy a simple night out can visit one of several gay bar options in Seattle. Pony is a hip gay bar in the area with vintage digs. R Place is a gay entertainment center that features dancing, cabaret, karaoke, and pool, depending on the night.

Advocating for LGBT in the Area

The Seattle LGBT Commission works to inform the mayor and other councilmen of issues directly troubling the LGBT members of the Seattle community. They recommend policy changes and amendments, join city projects, and make themselves well known to all public officials. The group is truly devoted to advocating for all LGBT in the area.

Gay City is Seattle’s LGBTQ Center. There are drop-in hours for people to come in and ask questions, socialize, and even use the available computers. These hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m to 8 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The center is devoted to providing a safe place for LGBT people in the area, as well as offering support for those in need. There are many programs and events sponsored by the center that they inform members about regularly.
