Be a Tourist

Some of San Francisco’s most popular attractions are best explored through traditional sight-seeing. Catch a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge or take a ferry out to the notorious prison on Alcatraz Island. The island is open year round except for major holidays, but tours and ferry times vary by season.

Visit the Pier

PIER 39 is one of the most popular destinations for individuals in San Francisco. With attractions, dining, shopping, and more, you’ll never run out of things to do at PIER 39. Create your own music by walking up or down the Musical Stairs, check out the Aquarium of the Bay, or even hop on a boat for a Whale Tour. Catch a bite to eat at one of the fourteen full-service restaurants on the pier or sit back and relax to their daily live music.

Relax in the Park

With over 1,000 acres of land, Golden Gate Park is one of the largest urban parks in the world. You can get in touch with nature by visiting the Conservatory of Flowers or the San Francisco Botanical Garden, or rent a boat on Stow Lake. You can even watch real buffalo roam at the Buffalo Paddock. On your way out, be sure to check out Rainbow Falls, which had colorful lights installed back in the 1930s.

Catch a Game

With San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland, California all within just a short drive of each other the Bay Area is paradise for any sports fan. For baseball lovers, you can watch the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park or the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Alameda Coliseum. For football fans, you can choose between the San Francisco 49ers and Levi’s Stadium or drive over to the Oakland Alameda Coliseum for an Oakland Raiders game. Basketball fans can catch a Golden State Warriors game at Oracle Arena while soccer and hockey lovers should head to San Jose. The Avaya Stadium is home to Major League Soccer team the San Jose Earthquakes while the NHL’s San Jose Sharks play at the SAP Center.

Check Out the Zoo

The San Francisco Zoo and Gardens has hundreds of exhibits featuring over 1,000 animals and 250 species. In addition to seeing the endangered and rescued animals up close, you can also explore the rides, attractions, and activities found on the zoo’s campus. With a playground, a rope obstacle course, and a carousel, you can stay busy at the zoo all day.
