See the Animals

The Seneca Park Zoo is home to hundreds of exotic and beautiful animals. With Summer Programs offered every day of the week and other exciting events, like ZooBrew and World Elephant Day, there is fun to be had at the Seneca Park Zoo for the entire family. The Seneca Park Zoo is open every day between April 1st and October 31st from 10 am to 4 pm and from 10 am to 3 pm from November 1st through March 31st.

Explore the Museums

Rochester is home to a number of museums, each focusing on a different interest. If you’re looking to an activity for children, The Strong National Museum of Play has exhibits on toys, games, and more. The Rochester Museum & Science Center is a great option for hands-on learning about Earth and space, where you can visit the Science Museum, the Strasenburgh Planetarium, or the Cumming Nature Center.

Whether you’re looking for a place for a picnic or hike or you want to take a kayak out or go for a swim, Durand Eastman Park can provide the perfect backdrop. If waterfalls are more your speed, High Falls is the destination you’re looking for.

Become an Adrenaline Junkie

For any lover of rollercoasters or amusement parks, Rochester is home to the Seabreeze Amusement Park. Park attractions at Seabreeze Amusement Park include roller coasters, thrill rides, family classics, and kiddie rides. The amusement park also has a designated waterpark section for those hot summer days. While most days the park opens at 11 am most days, be sure to check their online calendar before making your trip. Seabreeze offers specific “School Group Days” where the amusement park and waterpark will be closed to the public.

Go Back in Time

History buffs in Rochester, NY can check out the National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House, where you can learn about the civil rights hero who dedicated her life to fighting for equal rights for women. At the National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House, you can select a Tea and Tour, Lunch and Tour, or even rent the Carriage House.
