It is the largest group of its kind that allows members to meet up frequently and engage in events together. People sometimes schedule their own meet-ups, and allow others to RSVP. Nearly 1,000 members in total are involved with the group.
A number of bars and nightclubs are available in Riverside. There are two main LGBT options. VIP Nightclub & Restaurant features karaoke nights, drag shows, and happy hour deals. The Menagerie is mainly for men, but anyone who identifies as LGBT can enjoy the night at this location. Drag shows, dancing, and theme nights are available on a regular basis.
Speed Friending is a fun event that allows people of the LGBT community get to know one another. Sort of like speed dating, this event lets people have a few minutes to strike up a conversation with someone and see what they have in common. It is a great way to open up a line of communication with others and receive some companionship that many are missing, especially when they are new to a city.
Pride for Life is an alumni group from UC Riverside. Seniors who are part of one of these groups can join in on conversations and attend events with people in their age range. UC Riverside has an LGBT support center that provides plenty of opportunities for people to meet and engage with one another.
