The CalFresh nutrition program provides low-income individuals with financial assistance in the form of an Electronic Benefits Card (EBT) that is used much the same way as a traditional credit card to purchase food and groceries. Eligibility includes meeting the guidelines for the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and taking into consideration standard deductions.
