Dignity Health 

Dignity Health operates with faith and compassion for the community. They are the fifth largest health system in the US and the largest hospital provider in California. In the Bay area, there are four area hospitals along with specialty care centers.

The medical facilities in this area are experts in emergency care, women’s health, orthopedics, and cardiology.  Dominican Hospital, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, Sequoia Hospital, and St. Mary’s Medical Center make up Dignity’s Bay area hospitals.

Dignity also provides several classes and events to help you with your health. These courses include diabetes, nutrition, healthy living, and orthopedics.

Catholic Charities of East Bay

Catholic Charities of East Bay provides programs that foster self-sufficiency for seniors and families alike. They also work with local parishes to reach out in communities. 

They also offer programs for immigration, refugees, crisis response, mental illness awareness, and more.

The Oakland Service Center location is the main headquarters and also provides help with income tax, foreclosure prevention, and critical family needs.

Catholic Health Association of the United States provides services and health care programs to meet the elderly’s needs. Members can locate information on Catholic-sponsored health organizations for senior care including in-home health services, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, primary care, acute care, and counseling.

Members can view and research more information on Catholic health care through their website. There are also prayers, Catholic teachings on elders, and webinars to educate on care.

Catholic Medical Association Health Care Members

Oakland Senior programs and activities

There are four senior centers in Oakland for active seniors. They provide a full calendar with social, recreational, exercise, wellness, and health education programs. Each center has a computer room to assist seniors with getting online. All centers serve a hot lunch every day for a low cost. There is an annual fee of $12.

You can also search to find health care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities. There are Catholic-based communities, but most assisted living communities and nursing homes offer a variety of religious services.
