The AARP Foundation offers helpful online resources to assist older adults with job searching. These educational materials include information such as how to search for jobs, using the Internet to apply, creating a resume, applying for jobs, prepping for an interview, and accepting a job.
The Newark Public Library also offers help with job hunting including resume assistance, job searching, and information on careers. You can also search databases for employment and research companies.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) offers training to low-income seniors while they earn a modest income. This program matches participants with local non-profit agencies, government agencies, schools, senior centers, museums, and other organizations. Participants will work in these community settings about 20 hours a week.
Each participant receives a personalized career assessment, which includes any needed training and tutoring. Participants will then transition to jobs outside of the SCSEP program after at least six months to two years of training. This program can help participants find jobs like customer service representative, classroom aide, computer technician, building maintenance worker, and more.
