The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity provides resources to seniors age 50 and older looking to find work in Naples and the surrounding area. The Employ Florida Marketplace Silver Edition is an easy to use (and easy to navigate) online resource to find job listing specifically jobs with older worker friendly businesses and organizations. Listings show the employer, location, and in many cases, the base salary. You can also find volunteer opportunities on the site.

The site offers State of Florida Resources to veterans looking to break through employment barriers by learning how to create an enticing resume, polish people skills, and qualifying job prospects. CareerSource Centers give veterans priority on job referrals and helps vets develop the skills they need to return to the workforce. If you think you may qualify, you can visit the local center at:

CareerSource Southwest Florida 3050 Horseshoe Drive North Naples,FL Phone (239)-436-4301 Job Seeker Info Line (239)436-4301

The above center is a full service center so you can expect to have access to all the employment and training services available to veterans.

On the Job Training for Seniors

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is for low income Floridian seniors age 55 and older. To qualify you must be unemployed and have poor job opportunities. The SCSEP provides education and training to Naples residents. Workshops are available to teach important job navigating skills like resume writing and job interview people skills.

Participants are placed in public facilities or nonprofits that are partnered with SCSEP for part-time work at minimum wage. The goal is for the participant to learn the skills necessary to move from the SCSEP provided to work to gainful employment. Many of these businesses or organizations include hospitals, senior centers, day care centers, or schools.

An assessment is conducted to find the perfect role for you based on your past work history, skills, experience, interests, and physical capabilities.
