Neighborhoods of Naples

Fifth Avenue in Naples is well known for its fine dining and great shopping experiences. It is a primary hotspot for LGBT members of the community. Bambusa Bar & Grill is one of the top spots in this area for gays. Karaoke nights, happy hour, and the Bambusa Babes are all featured at this local attraction.

Brookdale North Naples is less than 20 minutes away from Bambusa. This senior living facility has beauty and barber services inside, and also allows for off-site activities frequently. Complimentary transportation is provided.

Also around 20 minutes away, HarborChase of North Collier provides an indoor commons are where many onsite activities are available. Devotional services are also available for those that wish to participate.

Events Around Town

Mangrove Cafe is located on Fifth Avenue on the southside of the busy street. It caters to an older crowd, offering fine food and international flavors. Both a full bar and patio seating are available. Twelfth Avenue South is where the Naples Fishing Pier is located. The clean, sandy beaches around this area are open to anyone. It is a great spot to relax and get a tan.

Bistro 821 is a gay-friendly restaurant. The varied menu draws in all sorts of crowds. It includes steak, seafood, pastas, and desserts. Spanky’s is another possibility. Barbershop chairs surround the tables, as this speakeasy-style restaurant features a number of antique decorations. Old style gas pumps, vintage signs, and other collectible items are included. A 1942 Ford Model T is the spot for the soup and salad bar.

The Center of SWFL-LGBTQ is the main option available in the area. It is located in Fort Myers, less than an hour away from Naples. The center offers people local resources so they can find the support and guidance they need. The member directory allows website users to search for their specific area. There are numerous resources located within Florida alone.

Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, also known as PFLAG, has a Naples chapter. The Naples United Church of Christ is the main meeting spot for anyone interested in joining the discussion. Support sessions are held on the third Thursday every month, between 7 and 9 p.m.

A confidential helpline is also available for those in need. It is open 24 hours a day, so anyone feeling down or needing guidance can reach someone, no matter the time of day.
