Miami Nursing Homes

When thinking about how nursing homes measure up in Miami, it’s appropriate to think about the many ways to evaluate them including quality care, costs, funding resources, location, and whether nursing home care is needed short-term or long-term.

Nursing home costs are on the rise. Fortunately, there are many kinds of nursing home care services and support in Miami. It’s wise to explore options that provide an appropriate level of care and identify funding resources to support that level of care for the appropriate time frame.

Many seniors rely on Medicaid to cover nursing or long-term care nursing costs. Miami is home to many quality nursing homes that accept Medicaid, but it’s important for seniors and family members looking for nursing homes to recognize that all nursing facilities don’t accept Medicaid. Individuals who are looking for nursing home care may utilize other funding sources like long-term care insurance policies, annuities or other investments, or family trusts. Family home sales may be another source of nursing home funding.

Location can be an important consideration for seniors who need nursing home care. Family members may need to transport them between facilities, especially when they need nursing care short-term or for adult day care. They may also want their loved ones geographically close enough so they can visit.
