In the past, families took care of aging relatives themselves. Sadly, the health care needs of some seniors became too much for families to address within their homes and communities. Various faith organizations soon recognized that the aging population needed personal and medical care services that allowed them to age with grace and dignity. With nowhere to care for their aging congregations, religious organizations developed their own facilities to care for the needs of their members. Today, many of them still exist and many of them have opened their doors to serve seniors from all faiths and walks of life.
