Needs some improvements!

Since my loved one moved in, he has mentioned a couple of things that have been concerning him. He has complained about the meals and the food service. I have also heard other residents complain about it and publish it in their little newsletter they have there. The place is quite nice, I like it so far but my loved one is not generally a happy person.

Very pleased

My mother has been part of the Royal Estates community for nearly 2 months. Her transition has been difficult at times because she has missed her home of 50 years. Yet, my siblings and I, have been very pleased with her life at Royal Estates. She too, is thankful for a good new home. She is safe, well cared for, and is surrounded by kind people.
The staff at RE has been exceptional and worked hard to make my mothers transition and stay a positive experience.
We appreciate the nice accommodations, the good meals, plentiful activities, and the attentive staff. I only wish we had found this place earlier.

I wish I could move into Royal Estates of El Paso. My uncle is settling in very well. He is not very social so it may take a while for him to be involved more in the community. I am not sure about the activities they offer as I am not there very often. I have tried the food and it was wonderful. The community is nice and I would recommend this community.

Staff not well trained

The staff here is okay and they are friendly, but they are not very well trained and they are not attentive enough to the residents here. The food is just okay, and the maintenance crew just does not do a good enough job of keeping the place clean.

I can only image the disappointment that you must have felt with our staff when your needs were not attended to properly. I completely understand your concerns and would feel the exact way if I was in your shoes. My Doctor told me he didn't want me here. Now I know why. The food is not diabetic friendly, or low salt, although they said " it would be when I moved In." The maintenance is shoddy work at best. That is considering if you can get someone to come to your apt. If you have medicine or a ups package delivered to the desk, they forget to give it to you, or even tell you about it. The staff for the most part are rude and not helpful. There are very few activities. In all this is not a place I would recommend.

Our community does offer a variety of menu choices apart from our two main choices. The food here is tasteless and not a balanced meal. They serve mixed vegetables everyday which is mostly carrots. Not diabetic friendly, even though they have sugarless desserts. Maintenance is horrible. When you can get somebody to fix something, it is done in a haphazard manner.

We did not like it from the minute we walked in.

This was not a place for our loved one, since we did not like it from the minute we walked in. It seemed that there were too many people there at the time of the visit. I didn't like that and it gave us a bad feeling when we walked in. The public restroom was not kept up and it was dirty. The staff were good with the residents. The repairs done in the community, in the bathroom of the room we were showed as a model, looked like they were done by an unskilled and untrained person. I'm not sure if they were trying to save money or what, but it's not something to do in a show room, where folks are making decisions on placement. There seemed to be a lot of activity going on and great interaction with the residents.

friendly place, need more activities

They really need to have more activities at Royal Estates of El Paso. They do not have too many. That is the main thing that I would like to see them improve on. It is a pretty nice facility and the people there are friendly though.

Excellent Leadership and Staff

Royal Estates takes the lead over other facilities due to it's on site leadership and the staff. Every individual we have met, or watched relate to the residents, truly appears to enjoy their work and wants to work there. They strive to be courtious and responsive.

The facility is very clean and well taken care of. We are very comfortable with choosing Royal Estates for our mother.

No complaints

Truly fabulous staff members! Great food served in lovely dining areas. Sparkling, clean facility. Entire place is very, very positive and upbeat. I have no complaints. Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law are living at Royal Estates in a well laid out apartment.

From the Community

Royal Estates of El Paso is located on El Paso's beautiful west side. All apartments have a kitchen area and private baths, as well as emergency call bell systems. Thermostat is controlled individually. Amenities include three restaurant style meals daily,weekly housekeeping, laundry service, transportation and 24 hour on site security. We have a full time Program Director and transportation is provided to outings, shopping, doctor appointments and entertainment.

Our award winning Fit for Life program insures that every resident receives an opportunity to excel in all areas of personal well-being.

On our beautifully landscaped grounds you will find two enclosed private courtyards with walking trails. Residents enjoy the library, billiard room, game room, TV lounge, exercise room, and our spacious arts and craft room. Our residents can also take advantage of our city pool located just one block from our community, it is indoors and the water is temperature controlled.

In our Assisted Living Area we have on staff 24 hours a day/7 days a week, a registered nurse, medication aide, and nurse assistants. All laundry is done for residents in assisted living and their bed is made up daily. We provide medication assistance, assistance with activities of daily living and there is always someone around to lend a loving and caring hand. Our sales and marketing staff is available seven days a week to assist you with information, tours and answer all your questions regarding senior living. We can also assist you with information and the application process regarding military (VA) benefits.

Respite care is available for any amount of time, whether it be a day, a week or months.
