Review of King Gardens

The staff seems nice here and the facility is also pretty clean and well maintained. So far, things are going well and we do not have any concerns. The transition was not an easy one, but things are okay.

wasn't a great fit

We toured here and decided this wasn't a great fit. - The view was not very good. The rooms were pretty spacious. There was another resident that was kind of screamer, and they wouldn't really do anything. It seemed like they kind of pushed for people not to be in their rooms and there were people just kind of laying around sleeping, and I just think why not let them be in their room if they want.

The premises looked well maintain and the staff seemed friendly and nice. The residents seemed well engaged.

A feeling of security

We moved my husband into care about 3 weeks ago. He has good days and bad days but seems, now, to be settling in. He enjoys the interaction with staff here and has made friends with other residents.

I have a feeling of security, knowing that he is well cared for and cannot wander away.

I am very grateful to "A Place for Mom" and to the staff of King Gardens for their help in finding this accommodation and care for him.

The staff are all very helpful and genuinely caring.

Review of King Gardens - Mississauga, ON

Mike my tour guide was very friendly and helpful. He actually helped me to better understand the differences between assisted living and memory care and the extent of care that is possible in assisted living. The location of the home itself is not ideal - in a bit of a run down area. They did have availability and could even offer short term furnishings if a move was an emergency.

Serious consideration

Great proximity to Allyson’s work and corresponding potential for weekday visits after work, and thus more frequent contact. Modern building and well designed, clean and in good state of repair. Bathtub cutaway giving safer access a great idea. Laminate floors in rooms a big plus as Roz with asthma does better accordingly. Room size was a plus and studio with efficiency was well laid out and livable for someone transitioning from a one bedroom. We have come to the conclusion that the efficiency is a must in order to dispel the motel/hotel feel. Weekly day trips and theatre and separate activity rooms and services a plus. This place we will give serious consideration.

A Great place for Mom

This is a great facility, the main floor and doing area is very nice. My mother is very happy here and says the food and service is very good with the staff always friendly, even the ones you meet on the elevator.
The security is also good.

A fresh start

Mom has resided at King Gardens for just 2 weeks - and it has been a good start. Her suite was freshly painted and clean, bright and sunny. The dining room is inviting and she is enjoying the main floor cafe where coffee is always available for her and her guests.
Mom has attended bingo, exercise class, religious services and gone to movie night. She is happy with the onsite hair salon which allows her to continue her weekly hair styling.
As family we find ground level parking convenient. In fact this was an important feature as it allows her 3 elderly siblings ease of access when they drive over to visit.
Mom has attended musical entertainment in the lobby and remarked on enjoying it. We hope given time she will form new friendships- that is what will really make King Gardens feel like home.
Overall a good start.

very nice place, good atmosphere, meals included for the same price as tapestry, but swimmong pool in condo across thr stree.t

Pluses: location, amenities, suite size, open common areas; varied activities
Minuses: vertical blinds; assisted living floor odour; facility is showing its age

Nice place, overall

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. However, the memory care section of this community was on the second floor, and I thought it would be much easier for my loved one to get out and participate in activities in a community that was all on one floor. We ended up selecting another Revera community in the area, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.
