Discovering Local Irvine Resources

Veteran Services are available through the University of California at Irvine. Visit the student center to learn about how they can help and what options are available to any current and past military members. The center primarily operates for students in the military, but veterans can seek services there as well since there are not many options in the city. Someone will point you in the right direction for resources depending on what you need.

Nearby in Santa Ana is the Santa Ana Veterans Health Clinic. The facility is less than 15 minutes away from most Irvine residents, giving you fast access to care. You can call 714-434-4600 to set up an appointment time or see if there are any walk-in hours available.

Getting Recognition for Irvine Veterans

Irvine does not host a Veteran’s Day Parade itself, but many nearby cities invite those from the area to attend. You can go to one in Anaheim or find an Orange County event. Irvine does host an annual Veteran’s Day Run, though. It takes place at the Mike Ward Woodbridge Community Park. There is a 11K run, 5K run, and 1-mile walk available for those who wish to participate. You have to register beforehand to join.

A special ceremony also gets held that day. It takes place at 11 am and gets held at the Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park. You can call 949-724-6606 to find out about helping.
