Things to Do in Henderson

The second largest city in Nevada, Henderson is a popular destination for the crowds. It sits just 16 miles away from Las Vegas and is part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. Arts, history, outdoor scenery, and more make up the space of the town, giving you more than enough to keep your time occupied.

Appreciate the Arts

The Spiritual Art Gallery & Museum sits at 2525 W Horizon Ridge Pkwy #220. Visit the gallery if you want to enjoy the arts it has to offer, including first rendering originals. Biblical events and places are a strong focus of the center. The place stays open every day of the week until 6:30 pm, and 6 pm sharp on Saturday.

Revisit Local History

The Henderson Historical Society has projects underway to help restore some of the city’s buildings to their former glory. The Society wants to show off the city as the historical hotspot it truly is and devote their time to making it the best it can be. You can ask about taking a historical tour of the town if you want to see all of the available sites.

Explore the Great Outdoors

Outdoor sites allow you to spend time getting fresh air and stretching your legs. Clark County Wetlands Park is a low-key nature preserve where you can walk the trails or bird-watch. The Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area also allows you to explore the area. You can even hike, bike, and horseback ride.

The Reunion Trails Park spans 12 acres, providing a full recreational area. The park includes a playground, walking course, basketball court, and splash pad. You can visit anytime between the hours of 6 am and 12 am. If you enjoy disc golf and other sporting adventures, the Arroyo Grande Sports Complex provides 56 acres of space to play. There is trail access (only lighted paths) in the area that opens at 5 am and stays available until 11 pm. Paths that are not lit must be abandoned at dusk.

Take Yourself to a Ball Game

Adult and youth leagues exist in Henderson that allows you to either participate in games or watch them when you want to get your sports fix. You can check out the city tournaments or attend local games at the recreation center or parks. There are special senior softball leagues you can join as well. There are 40+, 50+, and 55+ options.

Spend a Day at the Fair

The Clark County Fair & Rodeo takes places in April. Attend if you want to enjoy fair food, ride a ride, see the rodeo, enjoy a concert, or check out one of the many exhibits. Science, sewing, decorative painting, drafting, and more talents get showcased.
