Macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy are the leading causes of changing vision among people over the age of 65. Vision Forward offers an extensive history of quality education, training and support programs to help you or your loved one adapt to vision loss. We consider ourselves an extension of the eye care professionals’ practice. Your eye doctor and specialist are doing everything they can to help you manage your eye disease. Our focus is on helping clients solve functional problems like reading a newspaper writing a check, watching television and much more. We also facilitate a support series that leads participants in discussions that address practical strategies for completing tasks, coping mechanisms, as well as resources and services to help make adjusting to vision loss easier. The Vision Forward Store features assistive devices such as magnifiers, computer systems, and specialized lamps help with everyday tasks like reading, cooking, communicating and using email. Changing vision does not have to mean loss of independence or quality of life.
