Part C (Medicare Advantage plans) is offered through a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with additional optional Part A and Part B benefits and usually offers prescription coverage.

Part D (prescription drug coverage) adds prescription drug coverage.

Finding Medicare doctors and health care

Looking for a doctor who accepts Medicare? Medicare’s website offers an online Physician Compare tool to help you find local doctors. In your search, you can select doctors that take the Medicare-approved payment. This means you will not have to make any additional payments. You can also see all Medicare accepted doctors, which includes some doctors who will charge more than the Medicare cost if you don’t mind paying more.

After selecting a doctor, you will find out general information such as location, contact information, hospital affiliations, and Medicare payment types allowed. As of now, these are all group practice doctors.
