Customer Reviews

Knowledgeable staff!!

I had spoken to this staff about future planning for a place for my mother to go live when home health care would not work for us anymore. The staff where very knowledgeable about there facility and gave me great information about all the packages they offer to there residents. I will defiantly keep this place in my mind when the time comes to move my mom into a assisted living.

Going great!

The staff has been doing a great job with my wife. They are attentive and they really care about the residents. I like that the community is clean and they make sure my wife's room is clean. I also like that they have a very nice outdoors area that we can walk around.

Expensive For the Budget

There were many factors that played into where to move my brother too, and budget was one of those factors. This community rate were a little to high for his budget. I knew it wouldn't had been a good fit for him. It is a bigger community, and we wanted something more smaller and mellow.

Bad Staff and Management

Staff and management are not very responsive to patients needs. They constantly neglect important patient safety and health items. Staff acts helpful when visitors are there, but it's just an aCT. They take minimal care for thier patients at best. Would not recommended to anyone!

Good Safe Community

My uncle is currently at the hospital, but he is still a residence here. This is a good community, and I'am pleased with all they have done for us. The community at the moment is under renovating, but with these improvements the community will look better. The staff is kind and helpful. I know he is safe and in good hands here. This is a community I would recommend.

My Thoughts On the Place

The tour I was given was a good insight of the community. The place seemed to be nice and everything also looked clean. After talking with my guide, I felt that based on the price, this was not a good fit for my mom.

Nicest Place I Looked At

I'am pleased with my choice to move my mother to this community. It has worked out very well for her here. They have good staff, they are very helpful. They do a good job with the cleaning, the community is very well maintained. There are great activities available, she has tired some of them. She is pleased with the meals, the food is good. Out of all the places we saw this was the nicest. It is a little bit expensive, but you get what you pay. It is a great community, and I would recommend it.

comfortable and clean. caregivers are a little slack (there are not enough so they have to do double duty) but they are friendly and gentle.

summer at Lightouse

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The dining room is bright and pleasant. I have lunch there a couple of days a week. The activities are varied to appeal to everyone. The residents are friendly and greet me, my Dad and each other.

The rooms are a little larger!

The person that conducted my tour of this community was friendly. I did like this clean community however they did not offer the 24 hour dining service.

Worst place ever ! I wouldn't even send my dog to this senior living home in Middle river

AWFUL CARE ! ROUDE STAFF and very neglectful of patients ! .......This facility is the worst place to send your loved one.I speak from experience when I say this! I wouldn't even send my dog Molly to this Seniour living facility.
My grandmother dose not get the care she deserves and needs ! rite at this moment she is in the hospital with a compound fracture to her leg today is 3/26/2016 !
When learning about what happened all the lighthouse of middle river said was" she fell in the shower " they called the ambulance to get her to the local hospital !
I have been in my grandmothers living quarters time and time again and I know their is a chair railings and other stabilization their for her safety. Something dose not add up and please take this into consideration when you choose to send your loved one!
At this moment my grandmother will not be returning to light hose senior living in Middle river because after three months of being in their care too many un answered things have happened to my Grandmother in this facility !
PLEASE ! Consider what I'm saying this all is true and I stand by my word this place is not worth the 5,000.00 dollars we send a month to keep my grandmother there! Yes five thousand dollars a month and some change ! It's not worth it please do not send your loved one !

No Complaints

It has been a really helpful experience. The staff is extremely courteous to us. So far I have not had any complaints with Lighthouse Senior Living, nothing I can think of from the top of my head anyways.

So far we are still getting our feet wet there, so it's kind of hard to say at this time, but i'm pleased with everything there. The cost is a little higher than i'd like, but as far as the care and friendliness we're happy with it.

It's okay

It's okay. It's unfortunately, probably the best one I seen so far in my loved ones price range. It's just okay. The nicer ones were expensive and the medicaid ones were horrible.

My Mother is having a hard time adjusting but they are going out of there way to help her. They are accommodating. The facility itself is very clean and well kept. The Food is fair. i would recommend the Lighthouse Senior Living at Hopkins Creek to anyone who is searching for an assisted living community in Essex, MD. The value is excellent. My overall rating of this property is 4 stars. This is a nice community in the MD area.

They are doing an excellent job.

They are doing an excellent job. She is very happy, she has turned into a social butterfly. The food is very good, I have eaten with her and the food is excellent. The staff is excellent, I can call anytime and speak to someone. They were the most cooperative when asking questions and trying to get things set up. It's always clean, all you smell is the fireplace going when you first walk in. I have and would, recommend them highly!

I had a good experience with them, they have been so helpful and they go beyond what I had expected.

I had a good experience with them, they have been so helpful and they go beyond what I had expected. They were one of the least expensive that I had found. Her apartment is kept clean. There are activities on a daily basis. I've eaten the food and it was very good. I don't really have any complaints, all of our needs are being met. I liked the staff and Cindy was very good about explaining things to me and she worked with me and kept in contact with me. Also their nursing staff was very good. They are very attentive.

Lighthouse good value

The food is very basic but the residents seem to like it. From what I see there is very limited options. But the menu does seem to vary which is good.

People are friendly and seem very accommodating to request.

One area of improve is nursing care. Only 5x8 RN on duty with med tech coverage the rest of the time. Seems the med techs can only do certain things. If you believe your family member needs more health care then you should definitely inquire whether this facility can meet your needs.

Overall, my family member has adjusted to this facility and has made friends.

You get what you pay for

The biggest downfall of this community was there is no place outside for walking. If my mom wanted to walk around outside, she would be right on the main road. We pretty much walked out right away after seeing that. The cost of this place is low, you can tell right away. There is a nasty smell. You get what you pay for.

I've had some issues with the staff

I recently visited my loved one, and while I was there I had some bad experiences with the staff. Dad had been having some issues with his physical therapy, and when I questioned the head nurse about it she obviously knew nothing about my loved one's situation. They had been letting him decline physical therapy, and did not realize he was one of their dementia patients was not in a state to be making decisions about his own care. After I had to point this mistake out to them they grew very cold and unfriendly, and made the rest of my week-long visit with my loved one uncomfortable
The facility itself is nice looking, and generally kept very clean (the dining room could use some extra attention), but this recent visit did not leave me feeling entirely comfortable with my loved ones care.

Facility has really nice studio rooms for AL seniors. The rooms are bigger and have a small kitchenette. Price range was lower than many other places that had smaller rooms. The facility is clean and the staff friendly.

Apartment Style Living

Lighthouse is extremely too expensive for their services. It's outrageous. They were charging $1000 more than the other places we saw. It was clean but it was more of an apartment kind of thing rather than buildings with apartments and common areas in a community setting. Lighthouse was more just apartments.

Very nice place. Looked and smelled clean. Studio and 1 bedroom apartments were roomy and had a kitchenette. Basic cable TV service included. All the common areas were well kept. Staff was friendly. Assisted Living section had 1/20 ratio of caregiver/resident. Room price range was lower than some of the other AL facilities.

Lightouse Assisted Living

We found the staff to be very friendly and professional. The surroundings are neat, clean and in good shape. They provide a variety of daily activities and encourage the residents to interact with each other.

Would like more communication

Shes only been there for a little while, we had seen some spots on her rug and everything and we came in there with some rug cleaner to get it up, other than that it was pretty clean, it was kind of scummy in the toilet there too.
i think that they could let us know whats going on with her more, i have to actually ask, with a dementia patient, theres not too much going on but our family would like to know whats going on with her, to keep us updated on her status and everything because you always have to go ask. We can only get over there at night so i don't think that the night staff is very familiar with her.
we usually get over there every other weekend so we try to keep her little refridgerator filled with juices and snacks. They're taking excellent care of her and I'm glad i went down there and they had a room available.
