One day per week, the Cinemark Carefree Circle and IMAX in Colorado Springs offers a senior day where any senior can purchase a movie ticket for a discounted price. It is usually held on Mondays, although the days can vary depending on additional promotions going on at the time. You can see a current movie for less than $7 on senior day.
The Space Foundation Discovery Center headquarters are located in Colorado Springs. A number of fun science exhibits and space education locations are included. You can receive a senior discount at the discovery center if you are over the age of 65 and have a valid ID.
Open since 1979, the ProRodeo Hall of Fame is home to The Champ statue. It features the legendary Casey Tibbs. The Hall of Champions begins your tour, featuring more than 275 rodeo contestants. The remaining exhibits show the change in rodeo gear over the years, including saddles. Seniors receive a $1 off discount for their admission price.
Victorian furnishings can be seen in 30 rooms found throughout the Miramont Castle Museum. You will experience a self-guided tour as you walk through each room and get taken back in time. There is also a Tearoom where you can enjoy a meal. Fare from the past and present is offered. You must make a reservation to eat in the Tearoom, but walk-ins are welcome for the tours. Seniors over the age of 60 receive a discount for their tour price.
You can easily get to the places you need to go by using the Mountain Metro Transit. This bus system has a special program for senior riders, known as the Senior Ambassador Program. Seniors can learn how to use the bus system to their advantage by speaking with an ambassador and taking an initial ride through the city with assistance. All rides are only 85 cents.
Explore 27 acres of both indoor and outdoor exhibit sites with more than 4,000 artifacts available. The Western Museum of Mining & Industry features an ore mill, research library, industrial technology, and a theater. Seniors receive $2 off their admission price, with the museum open Monday through Saturday.
Less than a half hour away in Woodland Park, the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center offers a number of unique exhibits. Dinosaurs are the main attractions, but other animals are also featured, including certain marine reptiles and various mammals. You can receive a discount on admission if you are 65 or older.
