Reach New Heights

With beautiful mountains and parks all around, one of the most popular activities in Colorado Springs is exploring the outdoors. If you’re looking for a place to go hiking or climbing, you won’t find a better location than Pikes Peak. The Red Rock Canyon Open Space, complete with hiking and bike trails, can give you a more mellow backdrop to stroll through while still getting a glimpse of the mountains. Celebrate Christmas – Anytime of Year

Have you ever wanted to check out the North Pole? Well, in Colorado Springs, you can. The Christmas-themed amusement park, North Pole Colorado, stays open year-round for visitors to get in the holiday spirit. At the North Pole, you can visit Santa’s House, watch various performances and shows, and go on rides designed for kids and the whole family. The park is open most days from 10 am to 5 pm, but will close if the weather is not permitting.

Pamper Yourself

If you’re looking for a place to give yourself a break, Colorado Spring’s is home to The Broadmoor Resort. With an exciting mountain golf course, luxurious day spa, and a number of other activities, you can stop in at The Broadmoor Resort for the day or decide to make a stay-cation out of the experience. Other spas in the Colorado Springs area include the Cheyenne Mountain Resort Alluvia Spa and Wellness Retreat and the Mateos Salon and Day Spa.

Visit the Nation’s Only Mountain Zoo

As the only zoo located on a mountain in all of America, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has ranked 6th in the nation’s best zoos of 2015. Animal exhibitions at the zoo include the African Rift Valley with Grant’s zebra, vultures, and giraffes, the Asian Highlands with snow leopards and Amur tigers, and the Rocky Mountain Wild, complete with moose, grizzly bears, and mountain lions – just to name a few. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo also features rides and attractions designed to entertain the entire family.

Get Out There

Colorado Springs is home to the Peterson Air and Space Museum, which is actually located on the Peterson Air Force Base. Admission is free at the museum Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm and is closed every Sunday, Monday, and federal holidays. At the Peterson Air and Space Museum, you can explore the Terminal, Old City Hangar, Airpark, and Medal of Honor Park. Please be aware that because the museum is located on the Air Force base, you will need a guest pass for the base. Reservations will need to be made at least one day before you plan to visit.
