Cincinnati Senior Services

Cincinnati is characteristic of most large Midwestern cities, where the people are friendly and the food is hearty. Cincinnati residents get the full benefit of experiencing all four seasons, including the snowy winters, the colorful autumns, the green summers, and the freshness of springtime. For the most part, it’s a wholesome all-American area where the cost of living is low, housing is affordable, and living is good. In keeping with Midwestern values, family is very important. Senior services fill the gaps of hard-working extended families who care for their elders.

Cincinnati Area Senior Services (CASS) is a non-profit organization that provides care coordination, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, and transportation. Seniors will feel a sense of protection when they are able to receive financial assistance, help with being financially exploited, or guardianship assistance.

Council on Aging is a state program that recognizes that people are better able to live independently and with dignity when they are able to have choices of where they live. This program helps older adults with low-incomes and limited financial means with assistance for information, consultation, long-term care services, home and community-based options, and transitional care planning.

The Friendly Caller program is staffed by volunteers who call seniors to make sure they are well and offer companionship.

The Caregiver Assistance Network offers many free services and gives support to caregivers who care for seniors. The RSVP program provides various opportunities for senior volunteering.

Tender Hearts at Home Senior Care is a family owned company that takes pride in providing senior care that is compassionate and nurturing. The staff performs a thorough assessment of caregivers and clients to make sure that the pair will have a comfortable and competent working relationship. The program offers personal care, companion care, escorted transportation, light housekeeping, meal preparation and medication reminders.

Health with Heart Senior Services is a privately owned organization that promotes a system of compassionate care and personalized services. Staff provides a personalized assessment of the senior’s and family’s needs to form a comprehensive plan of services. The program provides private duty in-home care, consulting, navigation and problem solving, elder care education, grief services, and information and linkage to community resources.

Many of these services can also refer seniors to other services within their program networks. Seniors can also network on their own and find other services by socializing with other seniors and their family members.
