This federal health insurance program is available for Americans over the age of 65 and others with disabilities. Medicare is divided into four parts:
Part A covers inpatient hospital services, skilled nursing facilities, hospice care, and some home health care options.
Part B covers items similar to other health insurance including doctor’s appointments, outpatient care, medical supplies, and wellness visits.
Part C includes additional Medicare Advantage Plans through a private company for Parts A and B. This coverage is optional and usually includes prescription coverage.
Part D gives you the option to add prescription drug coverage.
