Chandler Veterans Support Groups

The City of Chandler has a population of a quarter of a million residents and of this number, the United States Census Bureau reports that 14,279 are veterans. You can find plenty of local, state, and national organizations that help veterans with housing, health care, and employment throughout Arizona.

Local Veterans Organizations in Chandler

The City of Chandler coordinates services with the Department of Veterans Services to provide veterans with benefits and information. The Veterans Services office is located at 3130 N. Arizona Avenue in Suite 114 in Chandler. Not only can the staff inform you of entitled benefits, but they can connect you with transportation for medical care through Coupons for Cabs, East Valley Dial-a-Ride, or About Care for the Volunteer Driver Mileage Reimbursement.

The Mesa Vet Center is located at 1303 South Longmore in Suite 5 in Mesa, approximately 20 minutes from Chandler. The center is open Monday through Friday and the second Saturday of each month. The office can help with claims or additional information about life insurance, long-term care, VA Aid and Attendance pension, burial, and memorial services, or home loans.

The Chandler-Gilbert Community College’s Veterans Services serves veterans of all ages in regards to the educational opportunities open to them including the GI Bill. If you are considering a new career, contact the Veterans Service office for an application and eligibility requirements. The office is open at the Pecos Campus and the Williams Campus, Monday through Friday.

Statewide Veterans Resources in Arizona

You can find help with housing, employment, educational opportunities, veteran driver licensing, counseling, and burial and memorial services through the Arizona Department of Veterans Services. The agency honors veterans with events and medals and provides resources on topics that affect veterans across the state. You can download a benefits booklet or request information about suicide prevention, employment assistance, or women veteran services.

The Phoenix Regional Benefit Office through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Benefits Administration serves the Phoenix area including Chandler. You can use the agency’s website to manage your VA and DoD benefits, check the status of a disability or survivor claim, manage your auto pay options for life insurance, or apply for a VA-guaranteed home loan. The office is located at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at 3333 North Central Avenue in Phoenix.

The Chandler Area Chapters of National Veteran Support Organizations

The Maricopa County Arizona Coalition for Military Families provides a military and veteran resource network and an employment roadmap to help you get started with life in Chandler. The organization serves the 303,495 veterans living in Maricopa County and addresses the issues pertinent to veterans like finances, housing, and homelessness, legal issues, mental health, and physical health.

Another national resource with posts in the Phoenix area serving Chandler is AMVETS. This nationally-recognized organization provides veteran services and promotes awareness regarding veteran suicide, depression, and PTSD.
