Located less than 10 miles from Chandler is the Southeast Veterans Affairs Health Care Clinic in Gilbert, which was developed through the Phoenix VA Health Care System. The 60,000 square-foot clinic serves more than 14,000 veterans in the Chandler area, including veterans living in Mesa, Ahwatukee, Apache Junction, Casa Grande, Coolidge, Florence, Superior, and Queen Creek.
The clinic is located at 3285 S. Val Vista Drive in Gilbert and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. In order to take advantage of the primary care and specialty services the clinic offers, you will need to schedule an appointment at (480)397-2800. The facility does not have an in-house pharmacy but does provide treatment for mental health issues like depression and PTSD, as well as other therapies like dermatology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, dentistry, and radiology.
The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services offers a State Veterans Homes Program to vets in the state requiring rehabilitative care and professional skilled nursing. The program is aimed at providing a safe haven for chronically ill and geriatric veterans and their surviving spouses. There are currently two State Veterans Homes in Arizona with one in Tucson and one in Phoenix.

Living in Chandler has its advantages for veterans. Maricopa County coordinates with other organizations to provide housing assistance for resident veterans including financial assistance with down payments, affordable housing, and home improvement. If you are interested in affordable housing, contact the Housing Authority of Maricopa County. The organization gives preference to veterans.
Chandler-area veterans can find help with filing claims at the Mesa Vet Center located at 1303 South Longmore in Suite 5 in Mesa. The center is less than eight miles from Chandler and is open Monday through Friday and the second Saturday of each month. The office staff can provide information on general claims benefits, employment opportunities, long-term care, nursing home care, burial and cemetery plans, memorial services, and pensions like the VA Aid and Attendance.
The Phoenix Regional Benefit Office provides Arizona residents with a place to file claims as well as an electronic VA portal to manage VA and DoD benefits, disability and survivor claims, life insurance auto-pay, VA application forms, home loan application forms, and the My HealtheVet wellness portal. The office is located at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at 3333 North Central Avenue in Phoenix which is less than 27 miles from Chandler.
