Chandler Support Groups For Caregivers

When you take care of someone else, it is easy to put their needs above yours. Since caregivers often have to do multiple jobs throughout the day, they forget to make sure they have enough support to handle the stress. Being a caregiver is difficult, and it takes a toll on your mind and body, so you need to make sure you care for yourself. Support groups are just one way you can create connections and find encouragement to do your job. There are many different supportive services available in Chandler, including support groups.

Alzheimer’s Association Support Groups

If you care for someone with Alzheimer’s, you know how hard it can get. The Alzheimer’s Association does a fantastic job of providing services for both patients and their caregivers. One of the easiest ways you can find support is to join a support group. The Desert Southwest chapter has dozens of support groups throughout the state, including one in Chandler.

If you can’t make it to a physical meeting, you can join an online support group. No matter when you need it, you can log on and connect with other caregivers. There are also forums and other online resources you can use. If you would like to learn more about the Chandler support group, you can check the website for times and call (602) 528-0545 for more information.

Neighbors Who Care, Inc

Neighbors Who Care, Inc. is a local group that focuses on helping the elderly stay in their homes as long as possible. They promote aging with dignity and provide various services like dinner delivery, van transportation, minor home repairs, and companionship visits. They also have a support group for caregivers.

This support group meets every Monday at a local church for a few hours. You can talk with other caregivers, share stories and find advice and encouragement at each of these meetings. You don’t need to pre-register; you can just show up. If you would like to learn more about this group you can call (480) 895-7133.

Region One also has support groups throughout the County that you can attend. There are groups for caregivers of all different diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s as well as LGBT-friendly groups. Arizona Caregiver Coalition

If you can’t get out of the house or don’t have time to get to any of these other groups and programs, you can go to the Arizona Caregiver Coalition. This site has information on all Arizona services and programs for caregivers. You can find local respite care and apply for respite vouchers to cover the cost. You can also search for other types of in-home care for your loved one.

They also have links to support groups in your area and online. You can also call their caregiver resource line and find someone to talk to when you need extra help or get more information about specific programs and services. The number for the line is (888) 737-7494.
