Best of Buffalo Senior Living 2016

Finding the perfect place to live typically proves challenging, as you never truly know how a neighborhood will work out for you. Seniors have a less difficult time finding a new home thanks to the Best of Senior Living Award. The 2016 award was given to multiple facilities throughout many states, including Buffalo. These facilities rank high in terms of livability, onsite activities, and even food offered. Check them out to find the right one for you.

In-Home Care

Perhaps you are not intending on moving, but do require some in-home care. Goodcare Home Health Services earned the Best of 2016 award. The actual agency is located just over 15 minutes away in Tonawanda, but services are available to anyone in the nearby vicinity, including Buffalo. Reviews indicate that “everyone is wonderful” at Goodcare. One reviewer stated, “the caregiver we have is very good at anticipating the needs of my father.” People are overall very pleased with the care they receive.

Alzheimer’s Care

If you have a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s, you may need to locate a special facility with staff trained to handle people with this memory disorder. One of the best options in Buffalo is Brookdale Bassett Road. It is rated four stars for excellence. There are many activities on site that keep residents engaged. Reviewers indicate they are happy with the care and it is a nice community.

Living With Assistance

Many seniors can handle most tasks on their own, but still require assistance in some areas. Living with assistance is the best option for these circumstances. There are many assisted living facilities located in the Buffalo area, but the best option is Brookdale Niagara, located nearby in North Tonawanda. Although they did not win the Best Award in 2016, they did achieve success in 2015. Reviews indicate the staff is “good at addressing concerns” and they are “finally sleeping at night knowing [they] made the best choice.”

Just 30 minutes away in East Amherst, there is another valid assisted living option. Montgomery Park has earned 4.5 stars for excellence. There are studios, one bedroom, and two bedroom options available, providing residents with the space they need, and the ability to live alone or with another. One reviewer indicated that Montgomery Park is a “bright, clean and cheerful place to live at.”

Residential Care Homes

Residential care homes, also known as senior group homes, are typically smaller than most assisted living facilities. This offers the feel of a close-knit community. Presbyterian Homes is one option in Buffalo. It is located nearby the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, making it an easy visit for family members who live out of state.

You can continue to look for the perfect place for you by searching through the list of Senior Advisor’s top-rated senior care providers. All of the Best 2016 award winners are available, and those facilities that won the award in previous years are included as well. Tonawanda, just a short drive away from Buffalo, is one of the more popular locations to consider.
