Things to do in Baltimore

Home of the Baltimore Orioles, the city of Baltimore has a great deal to offer its residents. Not only is it known for its sports, but also its historical significance. Fort McHenry sits in Baltimore, providing a historic shrine to honor soldiers of the past. Along with outdoor activities, a yearly fair, and several day spas, these attractions keep people coming back for more.

Gaze at the Artistic Views

The Baltimore Museum of Art is one of the most popular in the city. It sits at Johns Hopkins University. The sculpture garden is one of the biggest draws, but the museum also features contemporary pieces and impressionist paintings. The Walters Art Museum features both and history. Artifacts and paintings from centuries ago fill the spaces. The building itself is also historical, now used as a three-part gallery.

Go Back in Time at the Historic Sites

The Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine takes you back in time. Old and new flags are featured at the site, along with memorabilia from the War of 1812, the Civil War, and the World Wars. A walking tour of the fort allows you to experience time as it was back then.

Breathe In Some Fresh Air and Explore the Outdoors

If you would rather get some fresh air and explore outside, there are plenty of places to do so in Baltimore. Carroll Park Bike and Skate Facility lets you join in on skateboarding and bike contests. You can watch the contestants and enjoy some BMX-style stunts if you are unable to ride yourself. Once you finish watching you can take a simple stroll through the remainder of the park to get some walking time.

Catch a Game

The Baltimore Orioles are one of the most popular teams in the area. The baseball team plays at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. You can buy single game tickets and attend once, or buy season passes to go to every game held there that year. There are even spring training tickets offered to watch the team train and practice.

Get Some Fried Food at the Fair

The Spring Fair in Baltimore lasts just a few days in April. Arts and crafts, food, and music are the main features. Students from Johns Hopkins run the three-day festival. Contests, games, and rides are all available just like at any fair. Try some fried food and have some fun.

Enjoy Some Peace and Quiet

Whenever you have a long day and want some peace and quiet, head to a Baltimore spa. The Baltimore Spa & Salon provides an experience that makes you feel relaxed and renewed. Spa packages let you choose whether you want a classic escape, to relax and rejuvenate, or get a downtown duo for two. The Spa at Four Seasons offers massages, body treatments, and skin treatments. You can even enjoy the night spa experience and get access to these services from 9:30 pm to 12:30 am when there are not as many people around.
