Catholic Health Care in Aurora

Aurora gives seniors a wide range of programs and services to promote living independently.  Some of these health care programs are Catholic-based to also care for the spiritual needs.  You can find assistance programs through Catholic and local charities to help you with home health care, food, medical care, and non-medical needs in the Aurora/Denver area.

Catholic Health Initiatives

Catholic Health Initiatives is a nonprofit, faith-based health system.   It operates in more than 18 states.  This health system includes 104 hospitals and provides home health agencies, living communities, outpatient and inpatient facilities, and critical care services.  The system gives back to the community.  There are two hospitals in Denver including St. Anthony and The Gardens at St. Elizabeth.

Catholic Health Initiative also provides more than 80 telemedicine programs to minimize travel for patients.  Other specialized care includes cancer services, orthopedic care, and hospital medicine.

Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities Senior Services offers adults over 55 safe and independent living through a variety of services.  They provide case management, benefit application assistance, community support connections, and advocacy.  Catholic Services also offers caregivers respite services, support care, and connections with community providers.

Senior Services at Mulroy Senior Center offers regular exercise programs, games, nutritious meals and snacks, and crafts.  The seniors are engaged and can participate in educational programs and discussion groups.  The center also offers assistance with government benefits such as Medicare/Medicaid, Veterans services, and Social Security.  They also provide health care referrals, transportation, and translators for Spanish-speaking adults.

Catholic Health Association of the United States strives to advance Catholic health ministry.  You can also find a wide variety of resources to help you find person-centered, high quality care for:

Catholic Medical Association Doctors

Members of the Catholic Medical Association align their medical practices with the Catholic Church.  The Catholic Medical Association is the largest group of Catholic individuals in health care, and you can search for members.  

Local Senior Ministries

Blessed Sacrament Church offers Senior Support Services, which includes provided meals for seniors two evenings a month. Senior Support Services offers these programs to homeless seniors or extremely low-income seniors.

Aurora Center for Active Adults

The Aurora Center for Active Adults offers programs for those 50 and older.  These programs include exercise programs, a weight/exercise room, billiards, video games, Bingo, quilting, Red Hat Crafters, and Pinochle.  There are additional services including volunteer programs.  For more details, call 303.739.7950.

You can also search for assisted living and nursing care facilities in the Aurora area. There are Catholic-founded facilities and communities, but don’t let that deter you from other communities because most communities offer a variety of worship services.
